BIRTH ISHMAEL IN MARRIAGE

Date: Tuesday, December 30th, 2025

Title:  BIRTH ISHMAEL IN MARRIAGE

Genesis 16:2, Galatians 4:23

When marriage is handled outside divine order, the result is Ishmael—something born of impatience and flesh that wars against the promise. Sarah, weary of waiting, told Abraham, “Go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her” (Genesis 16:2). Abraham yielded, and Ishmael was born. Galatians 4:23 explains, “He who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.” That one decision, though seemingly practical, birthed a conflict that continues to this day. The lesson is clear: when you step outside God’s process in marriage, you invite battles that will outlive you. Many Christians, under pressure of age, culture, or family expectations, have made Ishmael choices in marriage. They thought they were solving a problem, but they created bigger ones. Ishmael marriages drain peace, sap strength, and complicate destiny. Unlike Isaac, who came by promise, Ishmael came by human calculation. God is not obliged to back what He didn’t initiate. That is why some unions are full of constant strife—because they were born out of flesh, not Spirit. Don’t assume that because a choice looks logical or convenient, it is divine. Flesh can birth, but only Spirit produces promise.Practically, wait for Isaac. Don’t marry just to silence pressure or please people. Refuse to let impatience push you into wrong unions. Ask yourself: “Is this marriage born of Spirit or of flesh?” If you are already married, don’t despair—commit your home to God and trust Him to turn what looks like Ishmael into a platform for grace. But if you are still waiting, don’t compromise. Isaac always comes, though he may tarry. The will of God will never be late. Marriage is too serious for experiments; only what is born of promise will carry destiny without sorrow.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I allowing pressure to push me into birthing Ishmael in marriage? Am I willing to wait for Isaac, God’s covenant choice, no matter how long it takes?

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from impatience that births Ishmael. Help me to wait for Isaac, the covenant fulfilment of Your promise.

WHEN MARRIAGE BECOMES A SNARE

Date: Monday, December 29th, 2025

Title: WHEN MARRIAGE BECOMES A SNARE

Judges 16:19–20, Nehemiah 13:26

Marriage is meant to be a blessing, but outside God’s will, it becomes a snare. Samson, anointed from the womb, lost his consecration and strength through his involvement with Delilah. The Bible says, “She made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head… And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him” (Judges 16:19–20). Nehemiah also reminded Israel how even Solomon, the wisest king, was corrupted by strange women: “Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him… nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin” (Nehemiah 13:26). A wrong marriage can neutralise the strongest anointing and silence the greatest wisdom.Satan knows he may not confront your calling directly, so he works to infiltrate through your spouse. Once your partner is a wrong influence, battles multiply inside the home, draining the strength you should spend on destiny. Many have entered marriages that looked attractive but became cages—prayer died, vision faded, and consecration was lost. Marriage is a covenant, and covenants amplify whatever they carry. If it is right, it multiplies strength; if wrong, it multiplies sorrow. Don’t assume you are too strong to be affected—Samson and Solomon were greater, yet they fell through wrong marital ties.Practically, never ignore red flags in relationships. If a man or woman pulls you away from God, mocks consecration, or despises your call, that is not a partner—it is a snare. Don’t baptise bondage with emotions. If you are single, let God’s choice alone be your compass. If you are already married, refuse to surrender to despair. Align your union to God in prayer, break every foothold of the enemy, and fight for your home to become a platform of strength again. Marriage can either advance destiny or imprison it—the choice depends on whether you let God lead.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I discerning enough to see when marriage is a snare rather than a blessing? Am I allowing God to lead me, or am I letting my emotions tie me into bondage?

Prayer: Lord, preserve me from marital snares. Let my marriage be a channel of strength, never a cage of sorrow.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

SUNDAY DECEMBER 28, 2025.

SUBJECT : THE WORD IN OUR RECREATION!

Memory verse: "Of His own Will He brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures." (James 1 vs 18.)

: First Peter 1 vs 23 - 25:

1:23: Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and forever,

1:24: because “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,

1:25: but the Word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

INTIMATION:

No one would ever have been redeemed by one’s own efforts. You could never have gotten in there by your own efforts. You had to be born of the Holy Spirit (John 3 vs 5). You have to be recreated through the energy of the Word; for He says, "Of His own Will have we been begotten through the Word." (James 1 vs 18 and First Peter 1 vs 23). It is not of man. It is not of the Will of the flesh, it is of the Will of our own heavenly Father. (John 1 vs 13.) It is through the Father's Word. It is by the energy of the Holy Spirit that Eternal Life has been given to us, and we have become New Creations.

The new creation in Christ—the confession and believe in our Messiah, Jesus Christ—is based upon legal grounds. You have come into the Father's family because you responded to His call. You have received the Word—Jesus Christ, who was God, and with God in the beginning (John 1 vs 1 - 2). You have received Him, and believed in His name, and He has given you the legal right to become His child (John 1 vs 12).

What Jesus taught—His Word, and what He did—His works are tied inseparably to who He is. Although Jesus took upon Himself full humanity and lived as a man, He never ceased to be the eternal God who has always existed, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the source of eternal life. This is the truth about Jesus and the foundation of all truth.

The Scripture in Psalm 33 vs 6 says that the Word is agent of creation, and the source of God’s message to His people through the prophets (Hosea 4 vs 1), and also God’s Law, His standard of holiness (Psalm 119 vs 11). This same Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1 vs 14).

All who welcome Jesus—the Word—as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Him, this new birth changes us from the inside out—rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives. Being born makes you physically alive and places you in your parents’ family. Being born of God makes you spiritually alive and puts you in God’s family (John 1 vs 12).

The passage we read today was a quotation by the apostle Peter from the Book of Isaiah 40 vs 6 - 8. He reminded us that everything in this life—possessions, accomplishments, people—will eventually fade away and disappear. Only God’s Will, Word, and work are permanent. Therefore, we must stop grasping the temporary, and begin focusing our time, money, energy on the permanent: The Word of God and our eternal life in Christ. God’s Word is eternal and unfailing; it is constant, and only in God’s eternal Word will we find lasting solutions to our problems and needs.

Prayer: Abba Father, You are the same with Your Word. I am recreated by Your Word, and in Your Word lies all answers to my problems and needs. Endue me greatly with Your Word that I may live a victorious and all sufficient life, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

DESTINY DEMANDS A MARRIAGE OF AGREEMENT

Date: Sunday, December 28th, 2025

Title: DESTINY DEMANDS A MARRIAGE OF AGREEMENT

Amos 3:3, Matthew 18:19

Marriage is not just about sharing a house—it is about sharing a destiny. Scripture asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Jesus also affirmed, “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). Agreement is the backbone of destiny fulfilment in marriage. Where there is agreement in the Spirit, strength multiplies. Where there is discord, destiny is delayed or derailed.Agreement in marriage is not about trivial things like favourite meals or hobbies; it is about alignment in purpose, values, and obedience to God. If a man is pursuing ministry but his wife despises it, frustration is inevitable. If a woman is consecrated but her husband resists the things of God, her fire will eventually be quenched. Agreement is spiritual, not sentimental. It is standing side by side, facing the same direction, and pulling in the same Spirit. The devil knows this power, which is why he works to plant seeds of disagreement in homes. Once agreement is lost, prayers are hindered, and destinies are crippled.Practically, don’t ignore spiritual agreement when making marital choices. Sisters, ask plainly: “Does this man’s spirit align with mine in pursuing God’s purpose?” Brothers, ask: “Will this woman walk with me in obedience or fight against the call of God on my life?” If the answer is no, then don’t proceed. For those already married, fight for agreement. Pray together until your spirits align. Refuse to allow bitterness, pride, or distractions to weaken your unity. Destiny demands agreement; without it, your marriage becomes a burden instead of a blessing.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Is my marriage or relationship marked by spiritual agreement or silent discord? Am I intentionally cultivating unity of purpose with my partner?

Prayer: Lord, give me a marriage of true agreement that multiplies strength and accelerates destiny.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

SATURDAY DECEMBER 27, 2025.

SUBJECT : BE ETERNITY CONSCIOUS IN YOUR BRIEF LIFE ON EARTH!

Memory verse: "Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." (James 4 vs 14.)

READ: Psalm 39 vs 4 - 6:

39:4: Lord make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am.

39:5: Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You.

39:6: Surely they busy themselves in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

INTIMATION:

Life on earth is the period between birth and death. And because it has a beginning and an end, it is temporary, and not permanent. The brevity of life is a theme throughout the books of Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. The Bible is full of metaphors that teach about the brief, temporary, transient nature of life on earth. The earth is not your permanent home or final destination. You're just passing through, just visiting earth. The Bible uses terms like alien, pilgrim, foreigner, stranger, visitor, and traveler to describe our temporary and brief stay on earth.

Ironically, people spend so much time securing their lives on earth but take little or no thought about life after here; where they will spend eternity. They are busy with the things that are temporary, but neglecting the things that are permanent. Amassing riches and busily accomplishing worldly tasks that would make no meaning and difference in eternity. Few people understand that their only hope is in the Lord. The only thing that matters in eternity is your relationship with your Maker, and it is the relationship built with Him that you take to eternity. All other things you have acquired, built, accomplished and so on, are abandoned here on earth to the cares of others, and they will one day perish.

To make the best use of your life is to build a superb relationship and fellowship with the Lord which is the only thing that qualifies you for eternity with Him, and your mansion in His house. Realizing that life is short helps us use the little time we have more wisely for eternal good, and don't get too attached to this world. May God help you see life on earth as He sees it.

In First Peter 2 vs 11, the apostle Peter stated, "Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul." As believers, we are "sojourners and pilgrims" in this world, because our real home is with God. Our true loyalty should be to our citizenship in heaven, not to our temporary stay here, "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3 vs 20.) How prepared are you to receive Him at His coming?

Real believers understand that there is far more to life than just the few years to live on this planet, and their homeland is heaven. When you grasp this truth, you will stop worrying about "having it all" on earth. God is very blunt about the danger of living for the here and now and adopting the values, priorities, and lifestyles of the world around us. When we flirt with the temptations of this world, God calls it spiritual adultery: "Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." (James 4 vs 4.)

We are in the world and constantly in association with the world, its standards, and circumstances. Though we are in the world, but we are not of this world (John 15 vs 19). The prince of this world is the greatest enemy of God, and by extension, our greatest enemy. "We are ambassadors of Christ" (Second Corinthians 5 vs 20). As an ambassador you will not be able to isolate yourself from the rulership of the prince of this world where you have your ambassadorial assignment. To fulfill your mission, you would have to have contact with the world.

God warns us not to get too attached to what's around us because it's temporary, "For the form of this world is passing away" (First Corinthians 7 vs 31). The cares of this world; financial security, self actualization, worldly happiness, marriage, and so on, are not the ultimate goal of life. As much as possible, we should live unhindered by the cares of this world, not getting involved in burdensome life activities that might keep you from doing God's work.

Compared with other centuries, life has never been easier for much of our world today. The advancement in technology has made life much more easier and enjoyable. We are constantly entertained, amused, and catered for. With all the fascinating attractions, mesmerizing media, and enjoyable experiences available today, it's easy to forget that the pursuit of happiness is not what life is about. Only as we remember that life is a test, a trust, and a temporary assignment will the appeal of these things lose their grip on our lives.

Life is short no matter how long we live. Be conscious of the two divides in eternity—heaven and hell. Take time to number your days by asking, “Where do I want to be in eternity?” “What do I want to see happen in my life before I die? What small step could I take toward that purpose today?” If you want to be with the Lord, deal with an undisciplined area in your life, and tell someone about Jesus. Because life is short, don’t neglect what is truly important.

Prayer: Abba Father, give me the grace to be eternity conscious, and not be consumed in seeking after the cares of the world that are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed. Amen.

MARRIAGE MUST MULTIPLY YOUR STRENGTH, NOT DRAIN IT

Date: Saturday, December 27th, 2025

Title: MARRIAGE MUST MULTIPLY YOUR STRENGTH, NOT DRAIN IT

Proverbs 31:3, Deuteronomy 32:30

Scripture warns, “Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings” (Proverbs 31:3). Marriage is either a multiplier or a destroyer of strength. God designed it so that one shall chase a thousand, and two shall put ten thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30). But when you marry outside His will, the reverse happens: one who could chase a thousand becomes unable to chase even one. The wrong partner drains energy, focus, and zeal, while the right one multiplies them. That is why you must see marriage as a strength equation, not just a romantic arrangement.Adam was distracted by Eve’s compromise and fell. Samson lost his consecration because of Delilah. Solomon, despite his wisdom, was weakened by strange women until his kingdom crumbled. On the other hand, Aquila and Priscilla multiplied their strength together, becoming effective co-labourers in the Gospel. The difference was not personality but alignment with God’s purpose. Satan knows if he cannot stop you directly, he can sap your strength through your spouse. A drained man cannot lead, and a drained woman cannot help. Marriage must therefore be chosen carefully, with destiny and strength in view.Practically, singles must ask: “Will this person multiply or drain my strength in God?” Don’t let beauty, wealth, or pressure blind you to the truth. Sisters, don’t accept a man who pulls you away from prayer and consecration. Brothers, don’t marry a woman whose appetite is for vanity rather than destiny. If you are already married, deliberately realign your home. Pray together, fight distractions together, and ensure your union channels strength into your calling. A marriage that drains is a trap, but a marriage that multiplies strength is a fortress for destiny.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Is my relationship multiplying my strength in God or draining it? Am I choosing a partner who adds spiritual weight or one who subtracts from destiny?

Prayer: Lord, give me a marriage that multiplies strength. Deliver me from every union designed to drain my calling and zeal

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

FRIDAY DECEMBER 26, 2025.

SUBJECT : REJOICE ALWAYS IN THE LORD!

Memory verse: "Rejoice always.” (First Thessalonians 5 vs 16.)

READ: Philippians 3 vs 1; 4 vs 4:

3:1: Finally, My brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.

4:4: Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice.

INTIMATION:

To rejoice is to delight, be joyful, be happy, or make happy. To rejoice in the Lord is to be joyful, happy, delighted, or gladdened in the Lord for who He is, and what He does, is doing, and can do. Rejoicing is pleasing to God hence His demand on people to be joyful. God encourages joy. God doesn’t intend for religion to be only meditation and introspection. He also wants us to celebrate.

Serious reflection and immediate confession of sin is essential of course, but this should be balanced by celebrating who God is and what He has done, is doing, and can do for His people. Therefore, worship involves both celebration and confession. In believers’ meetings, there are times for meditations and times of celebration—rejoicing in the Lord and demonstration of His goodness.

One of the feasts that God gave to Moses for the children of Israel is the feast of Tabernacles, also called the feast of ingathering (Leviticus 23 vs 33 - 44). It was a special celebration involving the whole family that lasts for seven whole days. The feast taught family members of all ages about God’s nature and what He had done for them, and was a time for renewed commitment to God.

In our societies in the world today, families need rituals of celebration to renew their faith and to pass it on to their children. Among Christians are Christmas and Easter. Also, Churches and Fellowships have other special days to commemorate God’s goodness and nature.

But the apostle Paul tells us that rejoicing in the Lord should be a constant practice for us. It was so important to him that he emphasized the word ‘rejoice’ twice in a verse of just nine words (Philippians 4 vs 4.) In his letter, from the prison in Rome to the church in Philippi, he emphasized the need of rejoicing in the Lord always.

Although, it seems strange that a man in prison would be telling a church to rejoice. But his attitude teaches us an important lesson: As believers in Christ, and trusting in God, our inner attitudes do not have to reflect our outward circumstances. The apostle Paul was full of joy because he knew that no matter what happened to him, Jesus Christ was with him.

It is in our nature to get easily discouraged about unpleasant circumstances. It’s also easy for us to take unimportant events too seriously. There are times when the last thing we want to do is rejoice. Our mood is down, our situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming. Yes, but this is as a result of our not looking at life from the right perspective: Our focus is on the circumstance we face, instead of on Him who controls all circumstances.

We can relate to the writers of the psalms in the Bible who often felt the way stated above. But no matter how low the writers felt, they were always honest with God. And as they talked to God, their prayers ended in praise. When you don’t feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel, be attentive, and you will find out that God will give you a reason to rejoice; Even at that same time, God has given you that day, that hour to live and to serve Him, be glad!!

You may not have been joyful because you have a wrong perspective of life. For instance, in the event of someone abusing you, calling you names indicative of the person’s regard of you as useless. Such circumstance is mostly unpleasant and discouraging. But such should not be taken serious, and not worry you, knowing that the ultimate assessment that matters is God’s assessment, not fellow human’s assessment. “Let God be true and every man a liar” (Romans 3 vs 4.)

Several occasions necessitate our rejoicing in the Lord always. They include: (1) His Incarnation—the union of God and man in the person of Jesus Christ, (2) God’s power available to us, (3) His presence with the Father interceding for us, (4) His presence with us, (5) His ultimate triumph, (6) Hearing the gospel, (7) Our salvation, (8) Receiving the Lord, (9) Our enrollment in heaven, (10) Our liberty in Christ, (11) Our hope in Christ, (12) Our prospect of reward, and (13) The obedience and godly conduct of fellow believers.

The apostle Paul, gives us three very important commands—be joyful, never stop praying, and be thankful (First Thessalonians 5 vs 16 - 18). Our joy, prayers, and thankfulness should be continuous, and not fluctuating with our circumstances or feelings. However, obeying these commands often go against our natural inclinations. But when we make a conscious decision to do what God says, we will begin to see life in the right perspective, that is as God sees it. And when we do God’s Will, we will find it easier to be joyful and thankful.

Prayer: Abba Father, give me the grace to rejoice in You always; having the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that I may be called a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You may be glorified, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.
