SUBJECT: FOLLOW THROUGH YOUR PROMISE IN PRAYER! 

Memory verse: "Then she made a vow, and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You wilt indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but wilt give Your maidservant a mail child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head." (First Samuel 1 vs 11.)

1:20: So it came to pass in the process of that time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the LORD.”

INTIMATION:

No one is forced by law to make a promise or vow to God, but once made, they must be fulfilled. God takes our promises or vows seriously, and requires that they be carried out (Deuteronomy 23 vs 21 - 23). We often have good intentions when making  promises or vow because we want to show God that we are determined to please Him. God, however, expects you to fulfill your vow even if it is difficult to do so. For instance, if you vow to give 10 percent of your income and suddenly some unexpected bills come along, God expects you to keep your promise, even when your faithful stewardship is costly. Therefore, be careful what you promise in prayer because God may take you up on it. 

Breaking a vow or promise meant breaking trust and and a broken relationship. Trust is still the bases of our relationship with God and others. Keeping vows and promises is important; it builds trust and makes committed human relationships possible. When you pray, ask yourself, 'Will I follow through on any promises I make to God if He grants my request?' It is dishonesty to ignore a promise, especially to God. God keeps His promises, and He expects you to keep yours. Although, we are not in a position to barter with God, He may still choose to answer a prayer that has an attached promise, and gets you committed to Him.. 

Go to Him in prayers with total sincerity of heart and frankness, in all intents and purposes. Don't keep anything back. Don't ask for what you really don't want, or promise to do something you can't or won't do. Remember He already knows your heart. Hannah so desperately wanted a child that she was willing to strike a bargain with God. God took her up on her promise, and to Hannah’s credit, she did her part, even though it was painful.

To do what she promised, Hannah gave up what she wanted most—her son—and presented him to Eli to serve in the house of the Lord. In dedicating her only son to God, Hannah was dedicating her entire life and future to God. Because Samuel’s life was from God, Hannah was not really giving him up. Rather, she was returning him to God, who had given Samuel to Hannah in the first place. These verses illustrate the kind of gifts we should give to God. Do your gifts cost you little (Sunday mornings, a comfortable tithe), or are they gifts of sacrifice? Are you presenting God with tokens, or are you presenting Him with your entire life?

Hannah had no child for her husband who really loved her. She was greatly discouraged and bitter because the husband's other wife had children and ridiculed her. Her loving husband could not solve her problem. She then turned in prayer to the Provider of solutions to all problems. Eventually, Hannah discovered that an honest and fervent prayer opens the way for God to work. Hannah made a vow in return for having a mail child, to dedicate him to God for lifetime service. God gave her a son named Samuel. She lived up to her promise, and God even blessed her with five more children excluding Samuel. 

Any of us may face times of barrenness; when nothing seems to work in our work, service, or even relationships. And it is difficult to pray in faith when we feel so ineffective. But Hannah did! She so desperately wanted a child that she was willing to strike a bargain with God. God took her up on her promise, and to her credit, she did her part, even though it was painful. We should always be careful what we promise in prayer because God may take you up on it. It is better not to make promises than to make them and then later not keep them. Text: Luke 22v35" And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, sack, and sandals, did you lack anything?" So they said, "Nothing"."

Honorarium is a payment for a service (such as making a speech) on which custom or propriety forbids a price to be set. God created excess honorariums for humans, before employing them (Gen 1v1-25).

Honorarium is a divine command that was obeyed during the Old & New testament era on many occasions, it speaks of courtesy 🤝(Deut 25v4, Judges 13v15-21).

Those who received Jesus' disciples understood the tradition, they honoured Christ without reservations👍 (Luke 6v38).

May we come to that place in time, when Ps 24v1 will be well understood & graciously applied in all sphere of our lives in Jesus Name🙏.

Both workers & members needs honorarium. Everyone came to serve in one capacity or the other, honorarium should not be limited to invited guests only!

Love Offering💵, Tithe, First fruits, special seeds, Thanksgiving offering, are all honorarium. The church authority should learn to reciprocate.

Even in heaven, when you render services in other departments, you'll be given honorarium upon project completion.

Honorarium is not for adults only, Jesus expect the children to swim in it⚽🩰. Rewards knows no age bracket, benevolence 🍱🍾is ageless.

However, making honorarium the driving force can lead to a sin. Soon, scamming the flocks will start, leading to loss of ministry (2 Tim 4v10 ).

You can even donate your honorarium 💵to the less priviledged, that makes it an act of worship. Let no one useless you because of honorarium, a minister must be honorable always (1 Cor 9v11-18)

DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD!

EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

WEDNESDAY APRIL 22, 2020.

SUBJECT : DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD!

Memory verse: “Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 58:14.)

READ: Psalm 37 vs 4 - 5; 145 vs 19:

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

37:5: Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to,pass.

145:19: He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him, He will also hear their cry and save them.

INTIMATION:

To delight in the Lord means to experience great pleasure and joy in His presence. This happens only when we know Him well. Thus, to delight in the Lord, we must know Him better. It’s your quest and thirst to know Him and His ways that commits Him into revealing Himself to you. It’s by God’s grace that we exist. We never entered into any agreements to be created by Him. It’s all His doing, and for His purposes. Therefore, if He has done all by Himself, and for His purposes, it’s obvious that to live and do rightly—living according to His preordained purposes—you must know Him and His ways thoroughly. 

The Scripture tells us to delight in the Lord and commit everything we have and do to Him. And to commit ourselves to the Lord means entrusting everything—our lives, families, Jobs, possessions—to His control and guidance. It means to trust in Him, believing that He can care for us better than we can care for ourselves, while we willingly wait patiently for Him to work out what is best for us. The knowledge of God’s great love for us, that love that drove Him to give His only begotten Son as a propitiation for our sins, will indeed make us delighted in Him. Whatever He does is permanent, and His blessings makes rich and adds no sorrow with it.

Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6 vs 31 - 33.) To “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” means to put God first in your life, to fill your thoughts with His desires, to take His character for your pattern, and to serve and obey Him in everything. God’s righteousness comes through one’s submission to His will. Seeking the kingdom of God, therefore, must always be first.

He created you and has put in place everything you require to live for Him, and according to His purposes. You can only know and have access to His limitless provisions when you delight in Him—strive to know Him and His ways better. Remember He said do this first—seek to know Him and His purposes for you first, and all other things you need, including your desires, will be added to you without struggle. All you have to do is seek Him first, and all other things flows your way as additions!

Before all else, strive after God’s way of doing and being right. Steep your life in God-reality through the wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of Him, never worrying about missing out. Put Him first in all you do—let Him take the driving seat in your life. Then you find that all your everyday human concerns will be met. Resolve to set aside time each day to read and think about God’s Word, reminding yourself of it day and night, and God will be your constant companion, ensuring your success in carrying out His purposes. You may not succeed by the world’s standards, but you will be a success in God’s eyes—and His opinion is most important. 

Prayer: Abba Father, endue me with the spirit of love that I may delight myself in You, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.
