SUBJECT : GOD’S MERCY IN OUR LIVES!

Memory verse: "But go and learn what that means: 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Matthew 9 vs 13.)

READ: Zechariah 3 vs 1 - 5:

3:1: Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.

3:2: And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

3:3: Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.

3:4: Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from Him.” And to him He said, “See I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”

3:5: And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.

INTIMATION:

Mercy is kindness or forbearance towards someone in one's power: a good thing regarded as derived from God. Mercy is God's nature, and is one of His profound ways of helping His people. God's mercy is forgiving, compassionate, withholding of the punishment or judgement our sins deserve. And because we can't do without help from God, His mercy endures forever.

King David, the man God described as; “a man after My own heart,” extensively utilized that nature of God. For instance, God was angry with David when he counted the people of Israel and sent a plaque among the people, such that seventy thousand men died in one day. But David cried out for God's mercy, which he knew would always answer for him and God was intreated. David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Please let us fall now into the hand of the Lord; for His mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man." (Second Samuel 24 vs 14.)

In the passage we read today, the prophet Zechariah, had a vision of how merciful God is. In the vision, he saw the activities or accusations of Satan against the children of Israel represented by Joshua the high priest (He was Israel’s high priest when the remnant returned to Jerusalem and began rebuilding the walls). Satan accused (“opposed”) Joshua. Though the accusations were accurate because the children of Israel had sinned against God (the reason Joshua stood in filthy garments (sins), but yet God revealed His mercy, stating that He chose to save His people in spite of their sin.

Satan is always accusing people of their sins before God (Job 1 vs 6). But he greatly misunderstands the breadth of God’s mercy and forgiveness toward those who believe in Him. God punished Judah through the fire of great trials, but He rescued the nation before it was completely destroyed, like “a brand plucked from the fire.”

Zechariah’s vision graphically portrays how we receive God’s mercy. We do nothing ourselves to deserve it. But God removes our filthy garments (sins), then provides us with fine, new clothes (the righteousness and holiness of God (Second Corinthians 5 vs 21; Ephesians 4 vs 24; Revelation 19 vs 8)). All we need to do is repent and ask God to forgive us. When Satan tries to make you feel dirty and unworthy, remember that the clean clothes of Christ’s righteousness make you worthy to draw near to God.

There is a need to understand the place of God's mercy in our lives. It’s important also to note that what you are fighting against may not be the devil, or witches and wizards as you had thought; it could be something you had done, like David, that angered God. He can be intreated when you call for His mercy. Also, certain things may be responsible for where we find ourselves and we may not know what they are. You may know all that you are doing, but will not know all that is doing you. But the mercy of God will always answer for us when we cry to Him in prayers.

Maybe a curse was placed upon one of your forefathers, which you inherited without knowing. Some people have so much money but can't account for how it was spent. They have no land, house, or anything to show for all the money that passed through their hands, yet they are heavily indebted. Some don't even know what next to do with their lives. They just keep wandering about. They invest in all manner of businesses and never realize anything out of them.

For some people, the things or habits plaguing them are like ancestral curses. They discover that things such as poverty, failure, marriage spell, immorality, drunkenness, lying, etc run through all their family tree. If you find yourself in any of such predicament, you can cry for the mercy of God to severe you from them. You can say to God, "Lord, I don't know the cause of this thing, but You know all things. Whatever I may have dabbled into through carelessness or ignorance, which has brought this affliction in my life, Lord have mercy! Whatever may have come on me through the negative side of my natural background, let Your mercy prevail for me!" Plead the mercy of God against that mysterious affliction in your life and it will give up, and you will be free.

It is God's Will to show mercy, therefore, His desire is to have mercy on us out of His Love nature, and not out of our ability to appease Him with our sacrifice. Hence God's instruction in Psalm 50 vs 15, "And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."

God willingly responds with help when we ask. Perhaps there is a sin in your life that you thought God would not forgive. God's steadfast love and mercy are greater than any sin, and He promises forgiveness: "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is Your faithfulness."(Lamentations 3 vs 22 - 23.)

Prayer: Abba Father, You are loving, and ever merciful. Like David, I prefer to fall into Your hands because I know Your mercy endures forever. Great is Your faithfulness. Let Your mercy, O Lord, locate me in my distress, even when I don’t know the source for my afflictions, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

DISCERN THE SPIRIT IN YOUR ENVIRONMEN

Date: Wednesday, January 21st, 2026

Title: DISCERN THE SPIRIT IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT

Ephesians 6:12, Acts 8:5-9

As you grow as a Christian that wants to bear much fruit, you must understand that you are not living in a vacuum. You are planted in a territory that has a spiritual climate. The Bible says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Those principalities sit over cities, tribes, families and even professions, pushing people in a particular wrong direction. When you decide that you will live as a serious Christian in your own city, the ruling spirit in that land will notice you. Some of the pressures you call ordinary trouble are actually the environment trying to pull you back to its old pattern. Until you discern the spirit in your environment, you will keep explaining away spiritual battles as normal life and you will surrender fruits that God is looking for.One of the things God must teach you if you will fruitful as a believer is how not to team up with the spirit in the land. In some places, people worship money; corruption is normal conversation. The spirit in the land is only adding names to its list of people it has conquered. The Church cannot copy that pattern and expect to manifest the glory of God. For a believer, excellence must become a lifestyle that flows from the nature of God inside you, not a performance you put on when people are watching.Acts 8 shows us another important truth. Principalities do not operate in the air alone, they look for personalities to express them. In Samaria, there was a man called Simon who used sorcery and bewitched the city, giving out that he was some great one. When Philip came with the gospel, the unclean spirits cried out and came out of many that were possessed, and there was great joy in that city. The principality that had ruled through Simon lost its grip. In every land the devil is looking for men and women that will become his mouth, his hands and his legs, so that he can spread rebellion, immorality, laziness, bad work attitude and wrong values. You must therefore be sensitive, not suspicious, and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the ruling attitude in your environment and to the personalities that carry it. As you refuse to copy the spirit in the land and insist on copying Christ, you will stand out as an overcomer, finish what you start, honour God where others despise Him and bear fruits that no territorial power can stop.THOUGHT TO PONDER: How will I practically refuse to team up with that spirit and instead follow the Holy Spirit so that I can finish my God-given assignments?

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to the spirit in my environment and to the personalities it uses, help me to refuse every wrong pattern and to finish every assignment You give me, so that my life will bear fruits that glorify You. Amen.

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

TUESDAY JANUARY 20, 2026.

SUBJECT: THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Memory verse: "So that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure,” (Second Thessalonians 1 vs 4.)

READ: Acts 2 vs 1 - 4:

2:1 When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

INTIMATION:

The power of the Holy Spirit is the power of God. The Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, has appeared throughout Scriptures as a Being through and by whom great works of power are made manifest. His power was first seen in the act of creation, for it was by His power the world came into being (Genesis 1 vs 1 - 2; Job 26 vs 13).

The Holy Spirit also empowered men in the Old Testament to bring about God’s Will: “So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came upon David in power” (First Samuel 16 vs 3; see also Exodus 31 vs 2 - 5; Numbers 27 vs 18).

Although the Spirit did not permanently indwell God’s people in the Old Testament, He worked through them and gave them power to achieve things they would not have been able to accomplish on their own. All of Samson’s feats of strength are directly attributed to the Spirit coming upon him (Judges 14 vs 6, 19; 15 vs 14).

Throughout history God has revealed His power through mighty miracles over nature. He promises to continue to reveal His power. The apostle Paul urged us to understand how great God’s power is (Ephesians 1 vs 18 - 23). The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to help us with our daily problems.

When you feel weak and limited, don’t despair. Remember that God can give you strength. The same power that control creation and raises the dead is available to you. The Holy Spirit is the manifestation of God who works in and through Christians in this dispensation of time in order to accomplish the work of God on earth through the church.

Jesus promised the Spirit as a permanent guide, teacher, seal of salvation, and comforter for believers (John 14 vs 16 - 18). He also promised that the Holy Spirit’s power would help His followers to spread the message of the gospel around the world: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1 vs 8). The salvation of souls is a supernatural work only made possible by the Holy Spirit’s power at work in the world.

At Pentecost (Acts 2 vs 1 - 4) the Holy Spirit was made available to all who believed in Jesus. We receive the Holy Spirit (are baptized with Him) when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. The baptism of the Holy Spirit must be understood in the light of his total work in Christians: (1) The Spirit marks the beginning of the Christian experience. We cannot be Christians without His Spirit (Romans 8 vs 9); we cannot be joined to Christ without His Spirit (First Corinthians 6 vs 17); we cannot be adopted as His children without His Spirit (Romans 8 vs 14 - 17; Galatians 4 vs 6 - 7); we cannot be in the Body of Christ except by baptism in the Spirit (First Corinthians 12 vs 13).

(2) The Spirit is the power of our new lives. He begins a lifelong process of change making us more like Christ (Galatians 3 vs 3; Philippians 1 vs 6). When we receive Christ by faith, we begin an immediate personal relationship with God. The Holy Spirit works in us to help us become like Christ.

(3) The Spirit unites the Christian community in Christ (Ephesians 2 vs 19 - 22). The Holy Spirit can be experienced by all, and he works through all (First Corinthians 12 vs 11; Ephesians 4 vs 4). The kingdom Jesus preached about was, first of all, a spiritual kingdom established in the hearts and lives of believers (Luke 17 vs 21). God’s presence and power dwell in the person of the Holy Spirit.

The “power” the believers receive from the Holy Spirit includes courage, boldness, confidence, insight, ability, and authority. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can experience the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4 vs 1), led by the Spirit (Luke 4 vs 14), and empowered by the Spirit to perform miracles (Matthew 12 vs 28). After Jesus had ascended to heaven, the Spirit equipped the apostles to perform miracles, too (Second Corinthians 2 vs 12; Acts 2 vs 43; 3 vs 1 - 7; 9 vs 39 - 41). The power of the Holy Spirit was manifest among all the believers of the early church through the dispensation of spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophesying, teaching, wisdom, and more.

Jesus had instructed His disciples to witness to people of all nations about Him (Matthew 28 vs 19 - 20). But they were told to wait first for the Holy Spirit (Luke 24 vs 49). God has important work for you to do for Him, but you must do it by the power of the Holy Spirit. We often like to get on with the job, even if it means running ahead of God. But waiting is sometimes part of God’s plan. Are you waiting and listening to God’s complete instructions, or are you running ahead of His plans? We need God’s timing and power to be truly effective.

All those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately and permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8 vs 11). And, although some of the spiritual gifts have ceased (e.g., speaking in tongues and prophecy), the Holy Spirit still works in and through believers to accomplish His Will. His power leads us, convicts us, teaches us, and equips us to do His work and spread the gospel. The Holy Spirit’s powerful indwelling is an amazing gift we should never take lightly.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank You for the unparalleled gift of the Holy Spirit and the subsequent manifestation of His power in the lives of believers in Christ. I covet earnestly the constant leading of the Holy Spirit in my life at all times and in all things, in the Jesus’ mighty Name I have prayed, Amen.

RAISING GODLINESS IN A HOSTILE WORLD

Date: Tuesday, January 20th, 2026

Title: RAISING GODLINESS IN A HOSTILE WORLD

2 Timothy 3:12, Matthew 5:10

At salvation, you were not only called to follow Jesus, you were also enlisted to raise the standard of godliness wherever you find yourself. The moment you decide that you will be like God in your words, habits and choices, you have signed up for persecution. The Bible says, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). There are people who will tell you that you are taking Christianity too far simply because you refused to lie, cheat or dress like the crowd. Some of that persecution will come from human beings who are offended that you no longer fit their description of a normal person. If you do not understand this, you will interpret every resistance you meet as a sign to lower your standard instead of seeing it as proof that you are on the right path.Godly living is not a gift that falls on you, it is a decision you make every day, and that decision has consequences. When you decide that you will talk like a Christian in your family, some relatives will pick offence. When you decide that you will run your business honestly, colleagues who cut corners will persecute you because your life is silently rebuking them. If you will be fruitful this year, you must make up your mind that you will always raise the standard of godliness, not reduce it to keep people happy.Jesus said, “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.” That means Heaven is watching how you respond when persecution comes because of your stand. Some women come to church every Sunday after a tongue lashing at home from an unbelieving husband, yet they lift their hands and rejoice before the Lord. Another sister with a born again husband is still grumbling because he did not wait for her to tie a particular headgear before leaving the house. Who is really serious with God between the two? Sometimes God will even allow a bit of persecution to wake you up from spiritual softness so that you toughen up inside. In this new year, refuse to hide your light just to blend with the crowd. Decide that in your dressing, your speech, your work attitude, your money and your relationships, you will quietly raise the standard of godliness, and as you abide in Christ, the Holy Spirit will use every pressure and persecution as tools to grow you into a fruitful, overcoming Christian.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Where am I quietly lowering the standard of godliness in order to avoid persecution or please people? What practical decisions must I take today to raise God’s standard in my home, work and church?

Prayer: Lord, strengthen my heart to choose godliness even when it attracts persecution. Help me to raise Your standard in every area of my life and turn every pressure to fruitfulness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

MONDAY JANUARY 19, 2026.

SUBJECT: GOD USES ANYBODY TO ACHIEVE HIS PURPOSE!

Memory verse: "Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out of two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there.” (Joshua 2 vs 1.)

READ: Acts 23 vs 16 - 22:

23:16: So when Paul's sister's son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.

23:17: Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”

23:18: So he took him and brought him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to say to you.

23:19: Then the commander took him by the hand, went aside, and asked privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”

23:20: And he said, “The Jews have agreed to ask that you bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to enquirer more fully about him.

23:21: But do not yield to them: for more than forty of them lie in wait for him, men who have bound themselves by an oath that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now they are ready, waiting for a promise from you.

23:22: So the commander let the young man depart, and commanded him, “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”

INTIMATION:

God has no favorites; none preferred above others, liked or loved above others. We are all created in His own image and after His likeness. We are equally loved by Him; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3 vs 16). God’s work in history is not limited by human failures or sins, and He works through ordinary people. He can use anyone, of any age, and any background, who is willing to yield to Him. Just as God used all kinds of people to bring His Son into the world, He uses all kinds today to accomplish His Will. And God wants to use you. Nobody is excluded from God’s love, but we appropriate it to ourselves by believing in His Son—Jesus Christ—He sent to us.

Several heroes in the Bible were common people: Jacob was known as a deceiver but God used him to “father” the Israelite nation (Genesis 27 - 28). Joseph was a slave in Egypt, but God used him to save his family, and the birth of Israelite nation (Genesis 39). Moses was a shepherd in exile and a murderer, but God used him to lead Israel out of bondage to the Promised Land (Exodus 3). Gideon was a farmer but God used him to deliver Israel from the Midianites (Judges 6 vs 11 - 14). Jephthah was the Son of a harlot, but God used him to deliver Israel from the Ammonites (Judges 11).

David was a shepherd boy and last-born of the family, but God used him exceedingly to defeat the enemies of the Israelites, and he became Israel’s greatest king. Esther was a slave girl, but God used her to save her people from massacre (Esther). Mary was a peasant girl, but God made her the mother of Jesus (Luke 1 vs 27 - 28). Matthew was a tax collector, but God used him as one of the apostles and Gospel writer (Matthew 9 vs 9). Paul a persecutor of Christians, but God converted him to be the most influential of the apostles (First Corinthians 15 vs 9 - 10).

Our memory verse relates to the use of prostitute by God to accomplish His plan. Rahab was a prostitute in the city of Jericho. As a prostitute, she lived on the edge of society, one stop short of rejection. Her house, built right into the city wall, provided both lodging and favors to travelers. God used her and gave her the courage to hide the spies and lie to the authorities. God works through people, like Rahab, whom we are inclined to reject. God remembered her because of her faith, not her profession. If at times you feel like a failure, remember that Rahab rose above her situation through her trust in God. You can do the same.

In the passage we read today, God used a child to accomplish His plan to save the apostle Paul’s life. It is easy to overlook children, assuming that they aren’t old enough to do much for the Lord. But this young man played an important part in protecting Paul’s life. Even Jesus made it clear that children are important (Matthew 18 vs 2 - 6).

The encounter of Jesus with the woman of Samaria in John 4 vs 7 - 42 clearly emphasizes God’s character of not being particular about your background, and loves us equally. The woman (1) was a Samaritan, a member of the hated mixed race, (2) was known to be living in sin, and (3) was in a public place. No responsible Jewish man would talk to a woman under such circumstances. But Jesus did, her social status, past sin, and her race notwithstanding. The same woman was used to convert a whole city—the city of Samaria. Jesus selected “ordinary” men with a mixture of backgrounds and personalities to be His disciples. He can use you!

Prayer: Abba Father, I love You, all I have is Yours, Yours I am, Yours I want to be, use me as it pleases You. Here I am, use me, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed. Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

YOU BECOME WHAT AND WHO YOU FOLLOW

Monday, January 19th, 2026

Title: YOU BECOME WHAT AND WHO YOU FOLLOW

Matthew 4:19, 1 Corinthians 11:1-

At salvation, God’s first call to you is not to join a group in church but to be a follower of Jesus. Church membership is part of God’s plan, but it is a means to an end, not the end itself. Jesus did not say, “Join my crowd”; He said, “Follow me, and I will make you.” It is as you follow that He makes you into a fruitful Christian that can bear much fruit in life, ministry and destiny. Many people are very active in church but are not deliberate about following Jesus personally, so their lives do not move from level to level in manifestation. If your Christianity is only group based, you will hide inside the crowd, but when persecution, pressure or temptation comes, it will be clear whether you truly followed the Lord or only followed friends. When you come into a local church, you must find out who and what you are supposed to follow. Paul said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” That means you follow men only to the degree that they are clearly following Jesus. A believer who does not understand this will follow anybody that looks successful, even if such a person is walking with the devil. As a child of God there is nothing wrong in learning in your field from people ahead of you, but you must know the limits of your followership. Jesus must remain the primary person you are following in everything, or you will gradually raise the standard of success while lowering the standard of godliness. In this new year, I want you to sit down and examine your secret models, because you become who you follow. Some Christians come to church but are actually following celebrities, worldly professionals and unbelieving relatives in their behaviour and choices. If your real pattern in finances is a corrupt businessman, or in marriage is a godless entertainer, do not be surprised when your fruits begin to look like theirs instead of like Christ. God is calling you to raise the standard of godliness again in your own life. Decide that you will study Jesus in the Bible, follow His lifestyle of obedience, meekness, purity and courage, and then follow leaders whose doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, love and patience match that pattern. Break away from any influence that is dragging you into compromise, no matter how admired or wealthy that person is. As you choose to follow Jesus closely and follow men only as they follow Him, you will see the Holy Spirit begin to make you, shape your heart and cause your life to bear fruits that will stand in the fire of eternity.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Who are you truly following in your secret thoughts, desires and decisions today? What practical step will you take this week to shift your followership back to Jesus and godly examples that point you to Him?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to stop copying the wrong patterns, to follow You closely and to follow only leaders that truly follow You, so that my life will bear fruits that glorify God. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

SUNDAY JANUARY 18, 2026.

SUBJECT: THANKSGIVING IN WORSHIP!

Memory verse: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;" (Philippians 4 vs 6.)

READ: Psalm 69 vs 30; 100 vs 4; Colossians 2 vs 6 - 7; 4 vs 2:

Psalm 69:30: I will praise the name of the LORD with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

100:4: Enter into His gate with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His Name.

Colossians 2:6: As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

2:7: rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

4:2: Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

INTIMATION:

The Christian works in thanksgiving for what God has done through His grace, acknowledging God’s goodness, which expresses your faith and confidence in Him. There is no powerful living apart from a life of thanksgiving which, of course, is the will of God for us. The Christian is zealous in the Lord because of his or her salvation that has come from the Lord through the offering of His Son Jesus Christ as a propitiation for our sins. Prayer and petitions (supplication) are to be made in the spirit of thanking God for all that He has done in our lives. When one truly understands the grace of God, He or she will respond in thanksgiving for all that God has done through Jesus.

God desires an attitude of thanksgiving, not just an act of it. Thanksgiving is an application for more. Being thankful for all the things He has done and is doing in your life is a pathway to receiving your petitions from Him. Therefore, when you have petitioned God for something, immediately begin to thank Him in trust and confidence that the thing you have asked for is on the way coming. The apostle Paul counsels all believers to give thanks in everything; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for them (First Thessalonians 5 vs 18.)

The apostle Paul lived a life of thanksgiving and preached the same to all believers. In some of the passages we read today, his counsel on thanksgiving, as an integral part of worship, is clearly expressed. In our memory verse (Philippians 4 vs 6), Paul counsels all believers to be thankful for what we ask in prayer, and to continuously be thankful and grateful for what He has already done in the past, what He is doing now, and what He is going to do in the future, including answer to your petition.

Jesus, our Messiah and perfect example, lived a life of thanksgiving during His earthly ministry. He knows the power of thanksgiving when communing with the Father, and gave thanks to the Father always. For example; He gave thanks to God when He broke the seven loaves and fishes and fed the four thousand (Matthew 15 vs 36). He gave thanks to God when He took the five loaves and two fishes and fed five thousand (John 6 vs 11). He also thanked God for hearing Him at the tomb of the dead Lazarus (John 11 vs 41). And He gave thanks to God when He gave the bread and wine to His disciples at the Last Super (Mark 14 vs 22 - 23).

Thanksgiving magnifies the Name of the LORD (Psalm 69 vs 30), and opens the gate of the court of the LORD (Psalm 100 vs 4). It also, multiplies what we have received (Second Corinthians 9 vs 12). For instance, when Jesus lifted up the bread and fishes and gave thanks it multiplied, thus thousands were fed by the meal of a child. Also, the power of thanksgiving in prayer helps us abound in Christ, drawing our life-giving strength from Christ (Colossians 2 vs 7). The more we draw our strength from Him, the less we are fooled by those who falsely claim to have life’s answers. If Christ is our strength we will be free from human regulations.

This kind of lifestyle of thanksgiving is an evidence of a grateful heart. If a person is grateful for what he already has, it is an indication that the individual is mature enough to receive other blessings. But if a person is always complaining about what he has now, why should the Lord bother to give him anything else to crab and gripe about. When we realize how far God had to send His Son in order to redeem us from condemnation, we respond with a life of thanksgiving. Our good works, therefore, are works of thanksgiving, not works of merit. Christians are motivated because of what they already have in Christ.

Prayer: Abba Father, there is none like You. Your steadfastness never seizes, and Your mercies never come to an end. Your compassion never fails. I will forever remain thankful to You for all Your great and wondrous works in my life. What You cannot do for me let it remain undone, and what You cannot give me may I never have it, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

PAYING ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE THINGS

Date: Sunday, January 18th, 2026

Title: PAYING ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE THINGS

Romans 8:19, Luke 16:10

The distinguishing factor between something good and something great lies in attention to detail. Those who stand out in any field are the ones that pay attention to the finer points, while those who remain average overlook them. As a believer, you must train yourself to be detail-oriented if you will fully manifest the glory of God over your life. The whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. The entire creation eagerly anticipates the revelation of your divine destiny. There is a heightened level of expectation for your manifestation because your revelation is the answer to someone’s prayers. When you manifest your true potential, someone else finds the solution to their problem. When you refuse to manifest, their cries seem unanswered. In spiritual things, details matter. It is not enough to say, I love God, if you are careless with the specific instructions He gives you. Salvation is the beginning of the journey, but it is your attention to the details of what the Holy Spirit is showing you that moves you from potential to manifestation. Little things like being punctual where God planted you, finishing the books He led you to read, praying when He wakes you, adjusting a wrong attitude when He corrects you, handling money the way He is teaching you, all these are details that add up. Many believers want a glorious future, but they ignore the small disciplines that are part of the programme of that future. They want to be mighty in ministry but despise simple obedience in their local church. They want to carry power, yet they are casual about holiness and private purity. You cannot be sloppy with details and expect great manifestations. So as you journey through 2026, I want you to begin to ask the Holy Spirit to show you the little things that matter to your destiny. What are the small instructions you have been treating as optional? Where have you been saying, It does not really matter, when heaven is saying, This is critical for where I am taking you. Start by writing down the key dealings God has been pressing on your heart. Arrange your daily routine around them. Let people call you strict if they like, you know you are aligning with the programme of your future. Pay attention to the way you speak, the way you think, the way you handle relationships, the way you respond when God nudges you. Creation is not waiting for your good intentions; it is waiting for a son or daughter who has honoured God enough to follow Him in the details.THOUGHT TO PONDER: What small instructions and details has God been repeating to you that you have treated as unimportant or optional? How will you reorder your daily life this year so that your attention to these little things can move you from potential to manifestation?

Prayer: Father, open my eyes to the little details that matter to my destiny and help me to be faithful in them so that Your glory can fully show in my life. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

SATURDAY JANUARY 17, 2026.

SUBJECT: WHAT HAS THE LORD SAID?

Memory verse: "So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue: for you shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” (First Samuel 30 vs 8.)

READ: First Samuel 23 vs 1 - 5:

23:1: Then they told David, saying, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are robbing the threshing floors.”

23:2: Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and smite these Philistines?” And the LORD said to David, “Go, and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.”

23:3: But David's men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”

23:4: Then David inquired of the LORD once again. And the LORD answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

23:5: And David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and fought with the Philistines, struck them with a mighty blow, and took away their livestock. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

INTIMATION:

What has the Lord said in that matter? What has He said in your situation? What has He said in that endeavor of yours? Such questions aforesaid are the beginning of a wise decision and action. Inquiring from the Lord puts us on a safe drive to God ordained destination. It makes us triumphant in all our lives' endeavors. This truth is known from ancient times.

God is the source of all truth. Whoever seeks the truth from Him will receive it and will be preserved from error. This is His promise. Knowledge of this led the faithful of ancient times to enter into communion with God when seeking the truth and the right ways. In ancient times they did not expect this communion to come about and to bring conviction by way of inner illumination, but by way of revelations of the truth received from without, and sent by the Lord in a manner perceptible to the human senses.

They inquired of God by means of human expedients, and were answered by Him through the same channel. They were well aware that the good spirit world in the service of God is the agent of His Will, and that to consult the spirit beings of God's Kingdom is equivalent to inquiring of God Himself. They were equally well aware that there is such a thing as an evil spirit world, and daily experience had taught them the possibility of communicating with this also.

At all times before the birth of Jesus Christ and in the early days of His era, the godly made liberal use of the privilege of inquiring of God. The writings of the Old and the New Testament abound in instances in which it is related that the faithful, when desirous of learning the truth, inquired of God and received their answers, transmitted to them through God's spirits. If you will open your Bible and carefully read through its Books one by one, you will find my statement confirmed. Wherever in the Scriptures you find a reference to inquiring of God, you will also find confirmation of the truth that God will send His answer, to all those who obey Him, turn to Him, and who appeal to Him for counsel, in a way that they can clearly understand.

David was a classic example of a man who was extensively used to the practice of inquiring from God, and the results are known to all Bible scholars. David sought the Lord’s guidance before he took action. He listened to God’s directions and then proceeded accordingly. This is the way to go by all believers in God. This privilege is given to us by God Himself. He said, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33 vs 3.)

David’s trust and confidence in God’s guidance among other things is unparalleled in the Scriptures. David fought his battles the way God instructed him. In each instance he (1) asked if he should fight or not, (2) followed instructions carefully, and (3) gave God the glory. He never, at any point, tried helping God like King Saul.

For Christians, we can err in our “battles” by ignoring these steps of David, and instead: (1) Do what we want without considering God’s Will, (2) do things our way and ignore advice in the Bible or from other wise people, and (3) take the glory ourselves or give it to someone else without acknowledging the help we received from God. All these responses are sinful.

Wisdom demands that rather than trying to find God’s Will after the fact or having to ask God to undo the results of our hasty decisions, we should take time to discern God’s Will beforehand. We can hear Him speak through the counsel of others, His Word, and the leading of His Spirit in our hearts, as well as through circumstances.

For instance, David knew he would become king (First Samuel 16 vs 13; 23 vs 17; 24 vs 20), and although the time seemed right when Saul was dead, but David still asked God if he should move back to Judah, the home territory of his tribe (Second Samuel 2 vs 1). Before moving ahead with what seems obvious. He first brought the matter to God, who alone knows the best timing. This should be the pattern of all believers in Christ.

Only those who put their whole faith in Him and who look to Him for help, will God allow to inquire of Him. But all those who hold communion with the ‘evil one’ and who look for help to the spirits of the Abyss, God will reject. It is not the half-hearted, not those who today turn to God and tomorrow to evil, not those who today pray and devote tomorrow to wickedness, whose appeals for counsel God will answer. This was true in olden times and it is true today.

Prayer: Abba Father, the end is known to You from the beginning. Endue me with Your excellent spirit that I may seek You, and Your counsel at all time, and in all things, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed. Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

GOD’S EXPECTATION OF YOUR FRUIT

Date: Saturday, January 17th, 2026

Title: GOD’S EXPECTATION OF YOUR FRUIT

Luke 13:6-7, John 15:1-2

As you move further into this new year, I want you to settle something in your spirit: God has expectations over your life. He is not an onlooker, He is a planter and an investor. Jesus told a parable about a certain man who planted a fig tree in his vineyard and kept coming year after year to look for fruit. For three years he came and found nothing, then he said, Cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground. In the same way, you did not get born again just to occupy space in church. God saved you, planted you in His vineyard and He is coming from time to time to check whether anything is coming out of all His investment over your life.God is not only interested in you being saved and speaking in tongues; He is asking, What is the reason for your salvation. What did I give you the baptism in the Holy Spirit for? Why am I pouring word, anointing, corrections, opportunities and resources into your life? The fruit He is looking for is manifestation. Jesus said He is the true vine and His Father is the husbandman. Every branch in Him that does not bear fruit, the Father takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, He purges so that it can bring forth more fruit. That means God is not indifferent. If you stay barren after all His labour, there are consequences. If you begin to bear fruit, He starts another serious work on you, removing things that are competing with His resources in your life so that you can bring forth more. Many times what you call a hard season is actually the scissors of the Husbandman cutting away weights, relationships, habits and distractions that are swallowing the sap meant for your destiny. So I want you to sit down and look at your life in the light of this truth. What has come out of the last three years of church, teachings, prophecies and experiences in your walk with God? Has your character changed? Has your prayer life grown? Has your obedience increased? Is there any soul, any department, any assignment, any fruit that you can point to as a result of His dealings with you? If not, then this is not the year to joke again, it is the year to respond. Cooperate with His purging. When He begins to touch that friendship, that habit, that use of time, do not argue with Him. When He calls you into deeper commitment in a particular area, respond. Abide in Christ deliberately; stay where the word can clean you and where the Spirit can correct you. If you will allow the Husbandman to work on you this year, you will not just be a planted tree, you will become a fruitful branch that answers God’s expectation and blesses the people He has tied to your manifestation.THOUGHT TO PONDER: If God were to come to inspect your life as His tree, what fruits from the last few years could you honestly lay before Him? How will you respond this year to His purging and dealings so that you move from being a consumer in His vineyard to a truly fruitful branch?

Prayer: Father, help me to take Your expectations seriously, to submit to Your purging and to bear the fruits that answer Your investment in my life. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

FRIDAY JANUARY 16, 2026.

SUBJECT : WHY PRAY?

Memory verse: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (Second Chronicles 7 vs 14.)"

READ: Psalm 5 vs 1 - 3:

5:1: Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.

5:2: Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray.

5:3: My voice You shall Hear in the morning, O Lord, in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.

INTIMATION:

Prayer is to speak reverently to God in order to sincerely express thanks, praise, or make a request. Therefore, to pray is to express one’s desires; praise or appeal to God in words or thought. Prayer brings us closer to God; it not only establishes a relationship with God, it is vital to maintaining our relationship with Him. It helps us in recognizing who God is and offering Him glory, honor, and adoration. The secret of a close relationship with God is built on the altar of prayer. It is essential to start each morning with prayer, when our minds are more free from the usual daily hustles and bustles, and commit the whole day to God.

Regular communication helps any friendship, and it is certainly necessary for a strong relationship with God. This is evidenced in the life of Jesus. He constantly went before God in prayer to determine God’s Will and direction, resist temptation, ask for courage, discover what His Father in heaven would do, offer thanksgiving, pray for others, etc. Matthew 26 vs 36 - 39 and Mark 14 vs 34 - 41 describe Jesus being very distressed about His crucifixion. He brings this matter to His Father, seeking His Will.

Prayer is one of the greatest opportunities given to man by God. It is one of the greatest privileges and ministries available to all Christians. It brings us in communion with God, and our humbly being in the presence of God at all times is the secret to continual triumph of the believer, hence the reason to pray without ceasing. Indeed, everyone who seeks to take his or her place in the Kingdom of God should seek or learn how to pray effectively. Jesus Christ never taught His disciples how to preach, but rather taught them how to pray. (Matthew 6 vs 9 - 13.) Jesus Christ told the disciples "WHEN YOU PRAY" and not "IF YOU PRAY" therefore, the onus is on us to pray.

Jesus is a prime example of a life lived by prayer that offers relevance, purpose, answers, and above all, a relationship with God the Father. Jesus prayed wholeheartedly for every move He made, asking God for guidance, leading, and direction. He prayed prayers of thanksgiving, prayers for healing, prayers for His disciples, and prayers for believers—present and future.

Apostle Paul, in First Thessalonians 5 vs 17, advises the believers thus, "Pray without ceasing." For him, prayer is the ultimate lifeline for the believer to God. This attitude of praying at all times is built upon acknowledging our dependence on God, realizing His presence within us, and determining to obey Him fully. We cannot spend all our times on our knees, but it is possible to have a prayerful attitude at all times. And we will find it natural to pray frequent, spontaneous, and short prayers. Short prayer attitude is not a substitute to regular times of prayer, but should be an outgrowth of it. In Philippians 4:6, Paul tells believers to pray for everything with thanksgiving.

Prayer is the platform of seeking direction from God. In Matthew 7 vs 7 - 11, Jesus talks about asking, seeking, and knocking, “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks.” Jesus encourages us to ask God for things. “If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him?”

Prayer is to be offered in the Name of Jesus (John 14 vs 13), that is, the prayer must accord with His character, and must be presented in the same spirit of dependence and submission that marked His pattern (Matthew 11 vs 26; 26 vs 39, 42; Luke 22 vs 42).

Faith is essential to prayer (Matthew 21 vs 22; Mark 11 vs 24; James 1 vs 5 - 8), for faith is the recognition of, and committal of ourselves and our matters to the faithfulness of God. Sometimes you think that God will not hear you because you have fallen short of His high standards for holy living, but if you have faith, and have trusted Him for salvation, you should know that God has forgiven us and He will listen to us.

Some other times you grow tired of praying because it seems God is not answering you, but a Christian's persistence in prayer is an expression of faith that God answers prayer. Faith shouldn't die if the answers come slowly, for delay is not denial, and may be God's way of working His Will. Always be confident, and know that God is present, always listening, and always answers in ways that He know are best for us.

Prayer: Abba Father, endue me with spirit of supplication, and total dependence and trust in You. I am persuaded that in Your lovingkindness You will liberally give me if I ask. For without You I can do nothing. Give me the grace to come to You in all things, and at all times, in Jesus Name I have prayed. Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

WHAT ARE YOU SERVICING?

Date: Friday, January 16th, 2026

Title: WHAT ARE YOU SERVICING?

John 15:4, Isaiah 53:5

You must service your relationship with Jesus if you want to stay in vital union with Him. When you gather with other believers to fellowship, what you are servicing is a relationship. Relationship gives birth to fellowship and the fellowship you activate strengthens the relationship. When you do not get into fellowship, the relationship will begin to die in your experience. That is why some people are closer to their friends than to their own siblings. It is not because blood has changed, it is because of the lack of interaction and failure to service that family relationship. Fellowship is the servicing of a relationship. A deliberate, intelligent fellowship with Jesus will lead to vital union. The Lord wants you to bring this understanding into your walk with Him. When you are not in vital union with Him, He will not be real to you and Christianity will look dry and hard.Relationships carry different weight in our lives because of what we are servicing. You can service a problem to the point where it becomes more real to you than the power of God. A person can have a medical condition that he is servicing by fellowshipping with the doctors report until it becomes stronger in his mind than the word of God that says with His stripes we are healed. Some service their relationship with a human being more than their relationship with God. A man can be closer to his wife than to the Lord, or closer to his pastor than to the Great Shepherd. Your pastor is supposed to be a signpost pointing you to Jesus, not a replacement for Him. It is possible to have a relationship with human beings that is more real than your relationship with God and that is a very dangerous place to live from in these days.So I want to ask you today as you go on in 2026, what exactly are you servicing? What gets your meditation, your time, your excitement and your repeated attention. If you give deliberate, intelligent fellowship to fear, fear will become a vital union in your life. If you service anger, lust, worry or offence, they will grow roots around your heart. But if you choose to service your relationship with the Holy Spirit, His presence will become more real to you than any other thing. Make a decision to change what you are fellowshipping with. Replace endless worry and complaining with speaking the word. Replace idle talk with worship. Replace long hours of mindless entertainment with quality time in the scriptures and in prayer. Choose gatherings that stir your spirit, not the ones that drain it. As you service your relationship with Jesus consistently, you will find that His voice becomes clearer, His leading becomes surer and His life flows through you in fruits that glorify the Father.THOUGHT TO PONDER: What have you been unconsciously servicing with your thoughts, conversations and daily routines and how has it been shaping your inner life. What practical changes will you make from today so that your most serviced relationship becomes your relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to stop servicing my problems and distractions and to start servicing my walk with You until You become the most real person in my life. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

THURSDAY JANUARY 15, 2026.

SUBJECT: THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN TONGUE!

Memory verse: "For he who speaks in tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." (First Corinthians 14 vs 2.)

READ: First Corinthians 14 vs 2 - 5:

14:2: For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

14:3: But he who prophesies speaks edification, and exhortation, and comfort to men.

14:4: He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but he who prophesies edifies the church.

14:5: I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that prophesied: for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

INTIMATION:

Speaking in tongue is a special prayer language, and a legitimate gift of the Holy Spirit. It is a heavenly language unknown to anyone, and considered as language of angels. The gift of speaking in tongues that continues throughout church history and is so widespread today is the Spirit-prompted ability to pray and praise God in a heavenly dialect, possibly even an angelic language that is not related to anything spoken on earth such as English or French or German or Latin.

The Holy Spirit personally crafts or creates a special and unique language that enables a Christian to speak to God in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. This gift is not a human language that one might encounter in some foreign country, but a Spirit-empowered capacity to speak meaningful words that are only understood by our Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God can also provide the interpretation through the one speaking or through another believer.

It is noteworthy that speaking in tongues is not a sign of spiritual superiority nor the invariable sign of Spirit-baptism or Spirit-filling. There are numerous instances in Acts of true conversion and Spirit-baptism where no tongues are mentioned. No one should put down those Christians who do not speak in tongues. The apostle Paul made several points about speaking in tongues: (1) It is a spiritual gift from God; (2) it is a desirable gift even though it isn’t a requirement of faith; (3) it is less important than prophecy and teaching. Speaking in tongues primarily benefits the speaker.

The exercise of the gift demands some guidelines so that the purpose of the gift—to help the body of Christ—is not lost. Those who speak in tongues should follow the guidelines. Those who do not speak in tongues ought not seek the gift as a sign of salvation or for special closeness with God, for it is neither. It is a gift of God, given only to whomever God chooses. If a person has not experienced the gift of tongues, he or she ought not seek it but seek what gifts God has given.

The gift of speaking in tongues is of no value to the congregation as a whole, only to the person who speaks to God in the unknown language. But if the person also has the gift of interpretation, the tongue could be used in public worship if the one praying (or someone else with the gift of interpretation) would then interpret what has been said. This way the entire church or congregation would be edified by the gift.

The apostle Paul says that the one who speaks in a tongue “speaks not to men but to God” (First Corinthians 14 vs 2). This means that tongues is a form of prayer: “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.” (First Corinthians 14 vs 14.)

Tongues is also a form of praise: “What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” (First Corinthians 14 vs 15.)

It is also a way in which we give thanks to God: “Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the room of the uninformed say “Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say? For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.” (First Corinthians 14 vs 16 - 17.)

Tongues is also a way in which we edify or strengthen ourselves: “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.” (First Corinthians 14 vs 4.) It is noteworthy that self-edification is a good thing, as we are commanded in Scripture to edify ourselves: “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,” (Jude 20.) Self-edification is only bad if it is done as an end in itself. It is good to take whatever steps you can to edify yourself, to build up and strengthen your soul, so that you might be better able and equipped to build up others (see First Corinthians 12 vs 7).

The self-oriented use of the gift of tongues by believers must be carefully practiced in order not to pursue self-development at the expense of broken, lost people. When we give too much attention to our own needs, ideas, and spiritual expression, we may push aside the Spirit’s true desire and abandon those who need encouragement.

Spiritual gifts are beneficial only when they are properly used to help everyone in the church. We should not exercise them only to make ourselves feel good. No matter what gift(s) a person has, all spiritual gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit decides which gift each believer should have. We are responsible to use and sharpen our gifts, but we can take no credit for what God has freely given us.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for Your manifold spiritual gifts in the body of Christ. I crave for the gift of speaking in tongues that can enable me communicate with You directly; praying, praising, and giving You thanks, and edify myself; building myself up in the most holy faith, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed. Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

RUNNING YOUR OWN DIVINE PROGRAMME

Date: Thursday, January 15th, 2026

Title: RUNNING YOUR OWN DIVINE PROGRAMME

Romans 8:19, Hebrews 6:12

The whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. That means creation is not just waiting for Christians in general, it is waiting for you in particular to show up in the programme God wrote for your life. One of the ways many believers weaken that manifestation is by comparison. God is investing in you because of the future He planned for you, not because of what your friends are doing. Just because you share a house and even a bed with someone does not mean you did the same things overnight. You do not know what they read, what they prayed, what they watched or what they discussed while you slept. In the same way, you do not know what God has in mind for them and what He has in mind for you.The Bible says we should be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. You follow faith and patience, not fashion and pressure. There is a difference between learning principles from those ahead of you and trying to copy people whose journey is completely different from yours. Some Christians are carrying visions that will touch nations, yet they want to live like people who are only planning to survive in one street. God knows what you are carrying, so He begins to put you through a stricter programme. While some people can sleep all night, the Holy Spirit is waking you to pray because of the battles He wants you to win ahead of time. You are meant to be a guide for someone’s future, but you will delay that person’s destiny if you keep postponing your own growth. Personal commitment is required to bear much fruit. So as you move further into 2026, stop complaining that your life is tighter than your friend’s life. Instead of murmuring, ask the Holy Spirit, Lord, what are You preparing me for that is making You demand this level of discipline. Stop trying to escape from every training that stretches you. Stay with the reading schedule He gave you, the prayer time He instructed, the service He planted you in, the financial discipline He is teaching you. Do not abandon your divine programme because a friend without any future plan seems to be enjoying more freedom. That freedom is very expensive; it is being paid for with their tomorrow. Decide that you will not manifest partially. You will press with God until everything He has put inside you comes into the open, in character, in calling, in capacity and in impact. That is how your life will answer the groaning of creation and bring glory to the Father.THOUGHT TO PONDER: In what areas have you been comparing yourself to friends instead of submitting to the specific programme God is running for your life? What concrete steps will you take this year to embrace His disciplines and follow those who through faith and patience inherit the promises?

Prayer: Father, deliver me from unhealthy comparison and help me to stay with the programme You designed for me until my full manifestation appears. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 14, 2026.

SUBJECT: CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS FOR GOOD WORKS!

Memory verse: "Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2 vs 14.)

READ: Ephesians 2 vs 4 - 10:

2:4: But God, who is rich in mercy, because for His great love with which He loved us,

2:5: even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you have been saved;)

2:6: and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

2:7: that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

2:8: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

2:9: not of works, lest anyone should boast.

2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

INTIMATION:

We are saved and became Christ followers through God’s unmerited grace, not as the result of any effort, ability, intelligent choice, or act of service on our part. However, out of gratitude for this free gift of salvation, we will seek to do good works; helping and serving others with kindness, love, and gentleness. While no action or work we do can help us obtain salvation, God’s intention is that our salvation will result in acts of service and good works. We have been created anew in Christ by obedience to the gospel. We have been so created, not by good works, but for good works.

The Christ follower owes all that he or she is to God who gave us a reason for transforming our thinking and life (Romans 12 vs 1 - 2). Through the manifestation of God’s grace, Christ followers have been driven by faith to conform their lives to the Will of God. They do good works in thanksgiving to the grace of God (Second Corinthians 4 vs 15). The Christ follower is not saved by works of merit that he or she has devised according to his or her own desires. They are saved for the purpose that God might work through them. Therefore, they do good works in response to what God has done for them.

It is our works that manifest our response to the grace of God. They are indication of our thankful response to God for His gift of grace. It is noteworthy that final judgement will be based on our deeds because they proclaim what sort of heart is within us. When we realize how far God had to send His Son in order to redeem us from condemnation, we respond with a life of thanksgiving. Our good works, therefore, are works of thanksgiving, not works of merit. We should continue to believe in God in order to maintain good works. Our maintaining of good works manifest our belief in God and appreciation for His grace.

While good works can’t save us or even increase God’s love for us, they are true indications of our faith and love for Christ. Discipleship for Christ followers is not optional, but a requirement. Every believer should be involved in good works. In carrying out good works, Christ followers will develop a solid spiritual foundation of a good character that is fit for eternal dwelling. Good works manifest the goodness of one’s heart. We therefore, judge ourselves by our works, for it is by our works that we manifest our hearts (Second Corinthians 5 vs 10).

Christ followers are the light of the world, and their light should shine before everyone that when they observe or see their light, which is their good works, they will glorify our Father in heaven. If we live for Christ, we will glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like. Christ followers must behave with integrity among the unbelievers in whose presence they live. They must behave in a way that presents hope to others. In doing this, they influence others for good, and also bring glory to God. If your actions are above reproach, even hostile people will end up praising God. Gracious, godly, and winsome behavior on the part Christ followers could even win some of the unsaved souls to the Lord.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for Your free gift of salvation to me. Give me the grace to represent Christ appropriately in good works, that they will see my good works and glorify You, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD!

GETTING RID OF WHAT CANNOT FOLLOW YOUR FUTURE

Date: Wednesday, January 14th, 2026

Title: GETTING RID OF WHAT CANNOT FOLLOW YOUR FUTURE

Psalm 18:29, Genesis 41:1

For by thee I have run through a troop, and by my God have I leaped over a wall. Your future has walls, not just doors. Many people get very close to the season they have been praying for and then discover they are not ready to scale the wall that stands at the edge of their next level. The problem is not that God did not plan a great future, it is that they refused the preparations and disciplines that would have given them the right starting point and momentum. David did not meet Goliath by chance. He had already faced a lion and a bear in the secret place. Those earlier challenges were the programmes of his future. The same Goliath that dethroned Saul was the one that announced David. What you are running away from now may be what God intends to use to train you for the future you are asking for.Your flesh hates the journey into the future. It prefers comfort, shortcuts and imitation. I want to challenge you to become uncomfortable with the things that are keeping you small and begin to press into the full manifestation of your divine purpose. Without a clear programme for your future you will carry things from your present that will sabotage you later. Men say someone fell from grace to grass, but what usually happens is that the grass of wrong habits and secret sins followed them up the ladder and pulled them down at a critical moment. Esau traded his birthright in a moment of hunger because he could not delay gratification. He thought only of his stomach and despised his future. Joseph, when Pharaoh sent for him, shaved himself and changed his clothes before he appeared in the palace. He understood that certain appearances and behaviours belonged to the prison, not to the throne. You must identify the behaviours in your life now that do not belong in your future.God loves you too much to leave you unprepared. He will send men from your future to you, people who understand the rules and philosophies of where you are going. They will talk to you about punctuality, purity, diligence, excellence and sacrifice. Their words may sting your flesh, but they are saving your destiny. You may meet them as pastors, teachers, bosses, books or messages that will not leave your spirit alone. Do not despise them or look for softer voices that will pamper your laziness. At the same time you must commit to go fully through the programmes of your future. You cannot attend a one month Bible school and expect to pastor men for destiny. You cannot pray casually and expect to stand before Goliaths. Personal commitment is required to bear much fruit. God wants you spiritually strong and also sound in character, finances and responsibility. Let this year be the year you allow God to shave off what does not belong to your palace and embrace every training that will make you ready for your own day of manifestation.THOUGHT TO PONDER: What habits, attitudes or relationships in your present season clearly do not belong in the future God has shown you? Which trainings, corrections and disciplines have you been resisting that you now need to embrace so that you can arrive at your future ready and not disqualified?

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to what cannot follow me into my future and give me grace to drop it and submit to every training that prepares me for full manifestation. Amen.

Every day in the God's Word

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

TUESDAY JANUARY 13, 2026.

SUBJECT: BE HONEST WITH GOD!

: "O LORD, You induced me, and I was persuaded; You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. I am in derision daily; everyone mocks me." (Jeremiah 20 vs 7.)

READ: Job 7 vs 17 - 21:

7:17: “What is man, that You should exalt Him, that You should set Your heart on Him,

7:18: that You should visit him every morning, and test him every moment?

7:19: How long? Will you not look away from me, and let me alone till I swallow my saliva?

7:20: Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to myself?

7:21: Why then do You not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? For now I will lie down in the dust, and You will seek me diligently, but I will no longer be.”

INTIMATION:

The first building block of a deeper friendship with God is complete honesty about your faults and your feelings. God knows we are imperfect, and is not expecting us to be perfect, but He does insist on complete honesty. The Bible remarks in Psalm 130 vs 3, "If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?" None of God's friends in the Bible was perfect. If perfection was a requirement for friendship with God, we would never be able to be His friends. Fortunately, because of God's grace, Jesus is still the "friends of sinners." (Matthew 11 vs 19.)

In the Bible, the known friends of God were honest about their feelings, often complaining, second-guessing, accusing, and arguing with their Creator. God, however, didn't seem to be bothered by this frankness; In fact, He encouraged it. God allowed Abraham to question and challenge Him over the destruction of the city of Sodom. Abraham pestered God over what it would take to spare the city, negotiating God down from fifty righteous people to only ten. If he had continued till one, God would have granted his request because a soul is valued more than the whole world. (Mark 8 vs 36.)

Our God is very patient. God did not slay Jeremiah when he claimed that God had tricked him (Jeremiah 20 vs 7 - 8). God listened patiently to David's many accusations of unfairness, betrayal, and abandonment as enumerated in his Psalms. In the passage we read today, God also listened to Job, and allowed him to vent his bitterness during his ordeal. Job referred to God as a watcher or observer of humanity. He was expressing his feeling that God seemed like an enemy to him—someone who mercilessly watched him squirm in his misery. However, in the end, God defended Job for being honest, and He rebuked Job's friends for being inauthentic.

God told them, "..My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has." (Job 42 vs 7 - 8.) We should know that God is watchful over everything that happens to us. We must never forget that He sees us with compassion, not merely with critical scrutiny. His eyes are eyes of love.

To instruct us in candid honesty God gave us the Book of Psalms—a worship manual, full of ranting, raving, doubts, fears, resentments, and deep passions combined with thanksgiving, praise, and statement of faith. Every possible emotion is catalogued in Psalms. When you read the emotional confessions of David and others, realize this is how God wants you to worship Him; holding back nothing of what you feel. You can pray like David: "I pour out my complaints before Him; I declare before Him my troubles. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me...." (Psalm 142 vs 2 - 3.)

In one startling example of frank friendship in the Scripture (Exodus 33 vs 1 - 17), God honestly expressed His total disgust with Israel's disobedience. He told Moses he would keep His promise to give the Israelites the Promised Land, but He wasn't going one step farther with them in the desert! God was fed up, and He let Moses know exactly how He felt. Moses speaking as a "friend" of God, responded with equal openness: "If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth." So the Lord said to Moses, "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name." (Exodus 33 vs 16 - 17.)

Moses was bold and candid with God. He felt God gave him a task, and should back Him up appropriately. He was quite frank. This is the honesty that friendship with God desires from us. Can God handle that kind of frank, intense honesty from you? Genuine friendship is built on disclosure. What may appear as audacity God views as authenticity. God listens to the passionate words of His friends; He is bored with predictable, pious cliches. To be God's friend, you must be honest to Him sharing your true feeling, not what you think you ought to feel or say.

It is encouraging to know that all of God's closest friends—Moses, David, Abraham, Job, and others—had bouts with doubts. But instead of masking their misgivings with pious cliches (attitude I call "holier than thou"), they candidly voiced them openly and publicly. Expressing doubt is sometimes the first step toward the next level of intimacy with God.

Prayer: Abba Father, I will lay bare myself before You, for You already know my thoughts before I speak them. Nothing is hidden from You, I pray for grace to come to You all the time in complete honesty and as a true friend, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

Men from your future may appear in your life today. They are people who have already walked the road you are about to start and are living in the reality you are only dreaming of now. Leadership works that way. You cannot lead from behind, you must be ahead of the pack in understanding, in vision and in obedience. When the children of Israel were on the brink of entering the promised land, God told Moses to choose twelve men, one from each tribe, every one a ruler among them, and send them ahead to search the land. Those men were supposed to walk through their tomorrow and come back with a report that would help the people step into it. In every generation God still raises such forerunners, people whose words and examples open up the future for others.Ten of those leaders returned with facts but without faith. They saw the land, they saw the giants and they saw themselves as grasshoppers. They described the same future that God called a good land as a land that eats up its inhabitants. Those are not the kind of people you must follow in 2026. A true leader is a dealer in hope, someone who sees the same giants but also sees the faithfulness of God and the possibilities that lie ahead. Caleb and Joshua were different. They tore their clothes, spoke to the whole congregation and said the land was an exceeding good land and that if the Lord delighted in them He would bring them in. They refused to magnify the giants above God. Many years later Caleb met Joshua and said he was as strong at eighty five as he was at forty, and he asked for the same mountain he had seen as a young man. That is the spirit of real leadership, a man whose outlook on the future is shaped by the word of God, not by the size of the problem.I want you to learn to recognise and honour the men from your future that God has brought into your life. Your pastor, a godly mentor, a teacher that stretches your thinking, a pattern of life that challenges you to live by faith, these are not mere acquaintances. They are pacers that God has set ahead of you so that you do not run your race blindly. The Holy Spirit will also use such men to introduce you to the programmes and disciplines of your future. Sometimes you may not like them at first, especially when they confront your laziness, your bad habits or your small mindedness, but their words strike your spirit and will not leave you. Do not despise that. In this new year, stop following friends who have no plan for tomorrow and start following voices that can see a future for you in God. Ask the Holy Spirit to connect you rightly and to keep you under leaders who will strengthen your faith, not drain it.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Who are the men from your future that God has already placed in your life and how have you been responding to their words and examples? What changes will you make this year about who you listen to and follow, so that your heart is filled with faith and not with fear?

Prayer: Lord, help me to recognise the men from my future, to value their words and to follow the voices that stir faith and hope for my God given destiny. Amen.
