THE WORD IN OUR RECREATION!

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

THURSDAY MARCH 20, 2025.

SUBJECT : THE WORD IN OUR RECREATION!

Memory verse: "Of His own Will He brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures." (James 1 vs 18.)

READ: First Peter 1 vs 23 - 25:

1:23: Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

1:24: because “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,

1:25: but the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

INTIMATION:

No one would ever have been redeemed by one’s own efforts. You could never have gotten in there by your own efforts. You had to be born of the Holy Spirit (John 3 vs 5). You have to be recreated through the energy of the Word; for He says, "Of His own Will have we been begotten through the Word." (James 1 vs 18 and First Peter 1 vs 23). It is not of man. It is not of the Will of the flesh, it is of the Will of our own heavenly Father. (John 1 vs 13.) It is through the Father's Word. It is by the energy of the Holy Spirit that Eternal Life has been given to us, and we have become New Creations.

The new creation in Christ—the confession and believe in our Messiah, Jesus Christ—is based upon legal grounds. You have come into the Father's family because you responded to His call. You have received the Word—Jesus Christ, who was God, and with God in the beginning (John 1 vs 1 - 2). You have received Him, and believed in His name, and He has given you the legal right to become His child (John 1 vs 12).

What Jesus taught—His Word, and what He did—His works are tied inseparably to who He is. Although Jesus took upon Himself full humanity and lived as a man, He never ceased to be the eternal God who has always existed, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the source of eternal life. This is the truth about Jesus and the foundation of all truth.

The Scripture in Psalm 33 vs 6 says that the Word is agent of creation, and the source of God’s message to His people through the prophets (Hosea 4 vs 1), and also God’s Law, His standard of holiness (Psalm 119 vs 11). This same Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1 vs 14).

All who welcome Jesus—the Word—as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Him, this new birth changes us from the inside out—rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives. Being born makes you physically alive and places you in your parents’ family. Being born of God makes you spiritually alive and puts you in God’s family (John 1 vs 12).

The passage we read today was a quotation by the apostle Peter from the Book of Isaiah 40 vs 6 - 8. He reminded us that everything in this life—possessions, accomplishments, people—will eventually fade away and disappear. Only God’s Will, Word, and work are permanent. Therefore, we must stop grasping the temporary, and begin focusing our time, money, energy on the permanent: The Word of God and our eternal life in Christ. God’s Word is eternal and unfailing; it is constant, and only in God’s eternal Word will we find lasting solutions to our problems and needs.

Prayer: Abba Father, You are the same with Your Word. I  am recreated by Your Word, and in Your Word lies all answers to my problems and needs. Endue me greatly with Your Word  that I may live a victorious and all sufficient life, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

A Six-Point Summary of the Gospel

A Six-Point Summary of the Gospel

Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. (1 Peter 3:18)

Here’s a summary of the gospel to help you understand it and enjoy it and share it!

1) God created us for his glory.

“Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory” (Isaiah 43:6–7). God made all of us in his own image so that we would image forth, or reflect, his character and moral beauty.

2) Therefore every human should live for God’s glory.

“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). The way to live for the glory of God is to love him (Matthew 22:37), trust him (Romans 4:20), be thankful to him (Psalm 50:23), obey him (Matthew 5:16), and treasure him above all things (Philippians 3:8; Matthew 10:37). When we do these things we image forth God’s glory.

3) Nevertheless, we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “Although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him . . . and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images” (Romans 1:21–23). None of us has loved or trusted or thanked or obeyed or treasured God as we ought.

4) Therefore we all deserve eternal punishment.

“The wages of sin is (eternal) death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Those who did not obey the Lord Jesus “will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might” (2 Thessalonians 1:9). “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Matthew 25:46).

5) Yet, in his great mercy, God sent his only Son Jesus Christ into the world to provide for sinners the way of eternal life.

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). “Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18).

6) Therefore eternal life is a free gift to all who will trust in Christ as Lord and Savior and supreme Treasure of their lives.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). “By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). “I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8).

OUR MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION!

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

WEDNESDAY MARCH 19, 2025.

SUBJECT : OUR MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION.

Memory verse: "Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation." (Second Corinthians 5 vs 18).

READ: Romans 5 vs 6 - 11:

5:6: For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

5:7: For scarcely for a righteous man will one; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.

5:8: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

5:9: Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

5:10: For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

5:11: And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

INTIMATION:

The Amplified Version rendering of our memory verse is, "But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

The Bible gave the explanation of our memory verse (vs 18) in verse 19 thus, "It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but canceling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). (Amplified Version.)

God is present, and at work in Christ reconciling the whole world to Himself, canceling out their trespasses, not counting them no more against them. For the believers in Christ, God has reconciled us to Himself by the mediation of Jesus Christ. All three members of the Trinity are involved in salvation. The Father loved us so much that He sent His Son to bridge the gap between us (John 3 vs 16). The Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit to fill our lives with love and to enable us to live by His power (Acts 1 vs 8).

In like manner, God has appointed those who believed and accepted Christ and what He wrought for us in redemption, as His representatives (ambassadors of Christ), and has commissioned us to do the same thing He is doing—reconciling the world to Christ. He has given us, through Christ, the ministry of reconciliation; not the ministry of condemnation which we have had before this time, but a ministry of reconciliation. He has also, given us the word (message) of reconciliation, to preach to the world as Christ's personal representatives in the world.

What then do we preach? In most of the preaching, we have reckoned unto men their trespasses. We have kept them "trespass-minded." We have kept them conscious of their weaknesses and failings, constantly preaching sin, and judgement to them. That is not wrong in itself, but God has not given us such ministry. He has instead given us the ministry of reconciliation; to preach Eternal life in Christ.

It is proper to remind us of where we are coming from, but it is much more proper to recount to us what God has wrought for us in Christ Jesus, and where we, as believers in Christ and His work in redemption, are heading to. For believers in Christ, the remission of sin is a reality, God has blotted out our past records, and made them nonexistent. Where we are coming from has seized to exist in God's memory, haven given us His righteousness in Christ (Second Corinthians 5 vs 21). It was for this reason He commissioned us as Christ's ambassadors with the message of reconciliation. We have that Word, and we have the message, It is therefore, ours to give to the world.

As Christ's representatives, a new commandment has be given to us in John 13 vs 34 - 35: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

That is the pivot on which the life of the "New Creation" man revolves. God, by His Nature, is love, and He showcased His love nature when He gave to the world His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a propitiation for our sins (John 3 vs 16). He came and paid the debt we owed and ought to have paid for our sins. and legally set us free from that debt.  When we were set free, He blotted out the records of our past, and made them nonexistent. He recreated us to be now in conformity to His love nature that was lacking before now, hence His pouring out His love out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5 vs 5).

It is after the impartation of His 'Love Nature' in the new creation, that He gave us the new commandment. Out of love for one another, we are to joyfully and freely let others know about Jesus, and the immeasurable worth of what He wrought for us in redemption, that they may come to partake of it.

As ambassadors of Christ, reconciled to God, we have the privilege of encouraging others to be reconciled to God in accordance with the ministry given to us. As ambassadors of reconciliation, we have very important responsibility—the message of entreating the world to be reconciled to God. We dare not take this responsibility lightly. The question then is, 'How well are you fulfilling your commission as Christ's ambassador?

Prayer: Abba Father, let the zeal of 'Your Commission' burn in me that I may be an ambassador of Christ worthy of my calling, and that I may obtain the crown of rejoicing, and righteousness, which the Lord will give to me at the day of His coming, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

Why We Must Hold Fast Our Hope

Why We Must Hold Fast Our Hope

When God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. (Hebrews 6:17–18)

God is not inconsistent. He does not exert himself with promises, and oaths, and the blood of his Son, simply to anchor down one end of our security while leaving the other to dangle in the air.

The salvation Jesus obtained by his blood was everything it takes to save his people, not just part of it.

So, we are prone to ask, Why does the writer encourage us to hold fast to our hope (Hebrews 6:18)? If our holding fast was obtained and irrevocably secured by the blood of Jesus — which it was (that’s the difference between the new covenant and the old) — then why does God tell us to hold fast?

The answer is this:

What Christ bought for us when he died was not the freedom from having to hold fast, but the enabling power to hold fast.

What he bought was not the nullification of our wills as though we didn’t have to hold fast, but the empowering of our wills so that we want to hold fast.

What he bought was not the canceling of the commandment to hold fast, but the fulfillment of the commandment to hold fast.

What he bought was not the end of exhortation, but the triumph of exhortation.

He died so that you would do exactly what Paul did in Philippians 3:12, “I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.” It is not foolishness, it is the gospel, to tell a sinner to do what Christ alone can enable him to do; namely, hope in God.

So, I exhort you with all my heart: Reach out and take hold of that for which you have been taken hold of by Christ, and hold it fast with all your might — which he mightily works in you.

THE CERTAINTY IN GOD’S WORD!

 EVERYDAY IN THE WORD!

TUESDAY MARCH 18, 2025.

SUBJECT : THE CERTAINTY IN GOD’S WORD!

Memory verse: "God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should repent, has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23 vs 19.)

READ: Isaiah 55 vs 10 - 11:

55:10: For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

55:11: So shall My Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

INTIMATION

The Word of God is certain and cannot be broken; it is constant and stands forever just as the Owner. The Scripture, in John 1 vs 1, says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jesus who lives is the Word, hence every Word of God abides. The word of man is as grass, but the Word of God lives on through the ages (Isaiah 40 vs 8). It behoves on us to put our confidence and trust in that Word that cannot be broken.

God, by His nature, cannot lie. The Bible says in Second Timothy 2 vs 13, "He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself" No word from God can ever be faulted. There never can be any denying of His own Word. We did not ask Him to write the Word, nor is He mindful of our perception of His Word. In Isaiah 45 vs 23 God said, "By Myself have I sworn." This is repeating what He said to Abraham (Genesis 22 vs 16).

God has made even His Throne back of His Word. I wonder how much some of our hearts can take it. It is like God throwing a cable about the Throne, dropping the cable over for us to grasp. Think of it this way; He said, "Do you see, I am putting My Throne as surety for My Word. My very Self is enwrapped in this." This is awesome!

The Scripture, Jeremiah 1 vs 12, says, “...for I will hasten My Word to perform it.”

Impassable gulfs become level roads to us when we realize that God watches over His Word and is ready to perform it. We take His Word and carry it into His presence and repeat it and say, "Father, this is what you said." We would not say that we knew that He kept His Word. That is an insult. We just look up and say, Father I thank you." It is in this assurance that Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24 vs 35; Mark 13 vs 31; Luke 21 vs 33).

The Word of God is living, life-changing and dynamic as it works in us. God's Word reveals who we are and what we are not. It penetrates the core of our moral and spiritual life. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil. (see Hebrews 4 vs 12.)

Have you ever noticed Hebrews 6 vs 18, "That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation....." The two immutable things are God's nature and His promise. God embodies all truth, you can be secure in His promises; you don't need to wonder if He will change His plans because by His nature He will never change for He said "I am the Lord, I change not." (Malachi 3 vs 6).

Let us now look at Hebrews 7 vs 22, "By so much more Jesus has become the surety of a better covenant." The better covenant is also called the new covenant or testament. It is new and better because now we have the Father, Jesus, and the Throne back of every Word. Is this not tremendous? If the Word should fail, it will dethrone the Triune God. It cannot fail even when the heaven and earth pass away.

How limitless becomes our ministry when we realize the integrity of the Word, when we know we have what He says we have, when we know we are what He says we are, when we know we can do what He says we can do. We step out of the narrow limits of a theology and sense knowledge into the boundless ability of God. Now we understand what it means when we say, "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me." With quiet confidence we face the impossible, knowing that He is the Master.

Prayer: Abba Father, forever Your Word is settled in heaven. All things were made by Your Word. Your Word is true from the beginning, and every one of Your righteous judgments endure forever. Let the light of Your unfailing Word flood my heart at all times, in Jesus’ Name I prayed. Amen.

Prayer’s Exclamation Point

 Prayer’s Exclamation Point

All the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Prayer is a response to promises, that is, to the assurances of God’s future grace.

Prayer is drawing on the account where God has deposited all his stores of future grace.

Prayer is not hoping in the dark that there might be a God of good intentions out there. Prayer banks on the promise of God, and goes to the bank every day and draws on stores of future grace needed for that day.

Don’t miss the connection between the two halves of this great verse. Notice the “that is why”: “All the promises of God are Yes in Christ. That is why (therefore) we pray Amen through him, to God’s glory.”

To make sure we see it, let’s turn the two halves around: When we pray, we say Amen to God through Christ, because God has said a decisive Amen to all his promises in Christ. Prayer is the confident plea for God to make good on his promises of future grace — for Christ’s sake. Prayer links our faith in future grace with the foundation of it all, Jesus Christ.

Which leads to the final point: “Amen” is a full and precious word in times of prayer. It doesn’t mean primarily, “Yes, I have now said this prayer.” It means primarily, “Yes, God has made all these promises.”

Amen means, “Yes, Lord, you can do it.” It means, “Yes, Lord, you are powerful. Yes, Lord, you are wise. Yes, Lord, you are merciful. Yes, Lord, all future grace comes from you and has been confirmed in Christ.”

“Amen” is an exclamation point of hope and warranted confidence after a prayer for help.
