SUBJECT: GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Memory verse: "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4 vs 30.) 

READ: Ephesians 4 vs 25 - 32:

4:25: Therefore putting away lying, “let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” For we are members of one another.

4:26: “Be angry, and do not sin”; do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

4:27: nor give place to the devil.

4:28: Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

4:29: Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

4:30: And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

4:31: Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

4:32: And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

INTIMATION:

Grieving the Holy Spirit is willfully thwarting his leading by disobedience or rebellion, tossing aside the gifts the Holy Spirit gives. When you do this, you bring sorrow to the Spirit by the way you live. In our memory verse, the word grieve is used as a verb, meaning: “to cause to feel grief or sorrow.” In other words, the Scripture is exhorting us not to cause the Holy Spirit to feel grief or sorrow as a result of our choices. We grieve the Holy Spirit by not allowing ourselves to be led by Him, but choosing our own ways instead. We grieve the Holy Spirit by not obeying Him.

The Holy Spirit is given to us as our Helper; He is our Leader, Empowerer, Encourager, Advocate, Intercessor, Standby, Strengthener, Counselor, Comforter, Revealer of the truth, and Gift-giver. He brings wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and the fear of God (Isaiah 11 vs 2). He also brings abundance (Isaiah 32 vs 15). Therefore, grieving the Holy Spirit puts you at risk of losing His services in the afore-referenced areas.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and knows the things of God; “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no man knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” (First Corinthians 2 vs 10 - 11.)

He reveals the deep things of God, and empowers us with the knowledge of the deep things of God, and encourages us to walk in that knowledge with His help. He is our master Counselor, and is on standby; ever ready to assist us if we cooperate with Him. If we grieve Him, He withdraws His assistance, and consequently, we grope in the dark, walking out of the path of life ordained for us, thereby making mistakes and wrong choices that are unpleasant to God.

It is noteworthy that a Christian cannot lead a fulfilling life, pleasing to God, and in accord to His precepts without the help of the Holy Spirit. We cannot overcome sin without the help of the Holy Spirit, therefore, it is very important how we respond when He speaks to us, realizing that you cannot live a life of victory over sin without His help. Victory over sin means that you do not commit conscious sin—that which you know would be sin at that time when you are tempted. It doesn’t mean that you are without sin, but that temptation is overcome before it can become sin without the help of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it becomes very important to you how you respond to the Holy Spirit when He speaks to you. 

You have to listen to His voice! We live in a fast-paced society, and most of us live a fast-paced lifestyle, with fast travel, fast communication, fast access to a wealth of information, etc. If in the middle of this you do not consciously “set your mind on the things of the Spirit,” you will not be able to hear His still, small voice in your heart of hearts. When you do not listen to Him, you end up grieving the Holy Spirit, because He has so much to tell you that will bring you joy and happiness, and lead you to a life of freedom from sin. Sin is anything that goes against God’s Will and His laws. To commit sin is to transgress or disobey these laws. 

The lust to sin dwells in human nature. In other words, it is contaminated and motivated by the sinful tendencies that dwell in all people as a result of the fall into sin and disobedience in the garden of Eden. Jesus called the Holy Spirit “The Helper,” and also said: “When He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth.” (John 16 vs 13.) All Christians are called to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, He who did no sin. You need to be led step by step because you cannot find the way by yourself. The Spirit will never force you—He wants to lead you into a life of victory, the happiest and most fulfilling life a person can ever live. The Holy Spirit will always lead you on a path of humility because He knows that it is the only access road to an overcoming life. 

You grieve the Holy Spirit by not allowing yourself to be led, but choosing your own way instead. God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him. The Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit and the flesh—our human nature—are in total opposition to each other. So you cannot live according to your natural inclinations and at the same time obey the Spirit. That is why we read in the passage today, “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God … let all bitterness, wrath, anger, loud quarrelling, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice.” You grieve the Holy Spirit by not obeying Him.

The good news is that the Holy Spirit is also the One who gives us power to obey and power to overcome all these tendencies in our nature! When God sees your sincere desire to obey Him, He will send His Holy Spirit to help you do just that. Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Just like a thirsty person in the desert drinks deeply from a spring of fresh water, you must drink deeply of God’s Holy Spirit—be filled with His Spirit—if you want to live an abundant Christian life.

God’s Spirit is in His Word. When you drink deeply of this fountain and of the spirit of faith that is in the Word, you will have power in temptation to overcome sin and do God’s Will instead of your own. We grieve the Holy Spirit by wandering around in the desert of our own thoughts and ways, too busy or too lazy to drink from the fountain of faith and power that is in God’s Word.

Therefore, grieving the Holy Spirit is totally unnecessary! He knows that we are weak, and that we don’t even know what to pray for in the right way, but He is there to help us in our need, and to pray for us so that we can find God’s Will and do it. (Romans 8 vs 26 - 27.) Then we will truly experience the comfort of the Holy Spirit as well as His power.

Prayer: Abba Father, ever loving and compassionate Father, give me the grace and empowerment never to grieve the Holy Spirit, my great source of help in all things pleasing to God, in Jesus‘ Name I have prayed. Amen.

Title: DESTINY VS PHYSICAL SHAPE

Genesis 17:19, 2 Corinthians 6:15

The choice of who to marry is not a matter of shape, looks, or status—it is a matter of destiny. God told Abraham, “Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and I will establish my covenant with him” (Genesis 17:19). That covenant could not come through Hagar, no matter how convenient or attractive the arrangement looked. In the same way, you cannot marry outside God’s will and expect His covenant to stand. Paul asked, “What concord hath Christ with Belial?” (2 Corinthians 6:15). Marriage is a covenant platform; if you join yourself to the wrong person, you may have companionship, but you will lack divine backing.Sarah was chosen by God to birth the covenant seed, but when she moved outside divine timing, she offered Hagar, and Ishmael was born. The result was strife and confusion that still speaks till today. Many believers repeat the same mistake—they marry according to sight and desire, not divine purpose, and they end up birthing Ishmaels that fight their destiny. Marriage is not for experimentation; it is a covenant arrangement to fulfil God’s plan. A woman who doesn’t know your calling cannot help you, and a man without vision cannot lead you. To marry for shape, money, or convenience is to risk losing your destiny to frustration.Practically, brothers, before you think of marriage, settle your calling—what has God sent you to do? Sisters, don’t agree to marry a man whose vision you cannot identify with. Marriage is not to rescue loneliness; it is to partner for destiny. When you stand before God, He won’t ask how beautiful your wife was or how rich your husband looked, but whether the union fulfilled His eternal purpose. If you are already married, align your home to destiny. Pray for your spouse, support one another’s calling, and resist every satanic attempt to reduce your marriage to mere fleshly convenience. Only then will your home truly carry heaven’s covenant seal.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I making marital decisions based on shape and convenience, or on covenant and destiny? Do I truly value God’s choice above my personal desires?

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from birthing Ishmaels in destiny. Lead me into covenant alignment in marriage that preserves Your plan for my life.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 18, 2025.

SUBJECT: THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Memory verse: "And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-” (John 14 vs 16.) 

READ: John 16 vs 7 - 15:

16:7: Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is to your advantage that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

16:8: And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

16:9: Of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

16:10: Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and you see Me no more;

16:11: Of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

16:12: I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

16:13: However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

16:14: He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

16:15: All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He willl take of Mine, and declare it to you.

INTIMATION:

God is three Persons in One--The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is the third Person of the Trinity. God became a man in Jesus so that Jesus could die for our sins. Jesus rose from the dead to offer salvation to all people through spiritual renewal and rebirth. When Jesus ascended into heaven, His physical presence left the earth, but He promised to send the Holy Spirit so that His spiritual presence would still be among humankind (see Luke 24 vs 49.) The Holy Spirit first became available to all believers in Christ at Pentecost (Acts 2). Whereas in the Old Testament days the Holy Spirit empowered specific individuals for specific purposes. Now all believers have the power of the Holy Spirit available to them. 

The Holy Spirit has appeared throughout Scriptures as a Being through and by whom great works of power are made manifest. His power was first seen in the act of creation, for it was by His power the world came into being (Genesis 1 vs 1 - 2; Job 26 vs 13). 

The Holy Spirit also empowered men in the Old Testament to bring about God’s Will: “So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came upon David in power” (First Samuel 16 vs 3; see also Exodus 31 vs 2 - 5; Numbers 27 vs 18).

Although the Spirit did not permanently indwell God’s people in the Old Testament, He worked through them and gave them power to achieve things they would not have been able to accomplish on their own. All of Samson’s feats of strength are directly attributed to the Spirit coming upon him (Judges 14 vs 6, 19; 15 vs 14).

Throughout history God has revealed His power through mighty miracles over nature. He promises to continue to reveal His power. The apostle Paul urged us to understand how great God’s power is (Ephesians 1 vs 18 - 23). The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to help us with our daily problems. 

Jesus Christ explained that we cannot control the work of the Holy Spirit. He works in ways we cannot predict or understand. Just as you did not control your physical birth, so you cannot control your spiritual birth. It is a gift from God through the Holy Spirit. 

The Holy Spirit changes people when they believe the Gospel. When we tell others about Christ, we must depend on the Holy Spirit to open their eyes and convince them that they need salvation. God's power--not our cleverness or persuasion--chamges people. Without the work of the Holy Spirit, our words are meaningless. The Holy Spirit not only convicts people of sin but also assures them of the truth of the Gospel. 

When you feel weak and limited, don’t despair. Remember that God can give you strength. The same power that control creation and raises the dead is available to you. The Holy Spirit is the manifestation of God who works in and through Christians in this dispensation of time in order to accomplish the work of God on earth through the church. 

Jesus promised the Spirit as a permanent guide, teacher, seal of salvation, and comforter for believers (John 14 vs 16 - 18). He also promised that the Holy Spirit’s power would help His followers to spread the message of the gospel around the world: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1 vs 8). The salvation of souls is a supernatural work only made possible by the Holy Spirit’s power at work in the world.

At Pentecost (Acts 2 vs 1 - 4) the Holy Spirit was made available to all who believed in Jesus. We receive the Holy Spirit (are baptized with Him) when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. The baptism of the Holy Spirit must be understood in the light of his total work in Christians: (1) The Spirit marks the beginning of the Christian experience. We cannot be Christians without His Spirit (Romans 8 vs 9); we cannot be joined to Christ without His Spirit (First Corinthians 6 vs 17); we cannot be adopted as His children without His Spirit (Romans 8 vs 14 - 17; Galatians 4 vs 6 - 7); we cannot be in the Body of Christ except by baptism in the Spirit (First Corinthians 12 vs 13).

The Spirit is the power of our new lives. He begins a lifelong process of change making us more like Christ (Galatians 3 vs 3; Philippians 1 vs 6). When we receive Christ by faith, we begin an immediate personal relationship with God. The Holy Spirit works in us to help us become like Christ. 

The Spirit unites the Christian community in Christ (Ephesians 2 vs 19 - 22). The Holy Spirit can be experienced by all, and he works through all (First Corinthians 12 vs 11; Ephesians 4 vs 4). The kingdom Jesus preached about was, first of all, a spiritual kingdom established in the hearts and lives of believers (Luke 17 vs 21). God’s presence and power dwell in the person of the Holy Spirit. 

During His earthly ministry, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4 vs 1), led by the Spirit (Luke 4 vs 14), and empowered by the Spirit to perform miracles (Matthew 12 vs28). After Jesus had ascended to heaven, the Spirit equipped the apostles to perform miracles, too (Second Corinthians 2 vs 12; Acts 2 vs 43; 3 vs 1 - 7; 9 vs 39 - 41). The power of the Holy Spirit was manifest among all the believers of the early church through the dispensation of spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophesying, teaching, wisdom, and more.

Jesus had instructed His disciples to witness to people of all nations about Him (Matthew 28 vs 19 - 20). But they were told to wait first for the Holy Spirit (Luke 24 vs 49). God has important work for you to do for Him, but you must do it by the power of the Holy Spirit. We often like to get on with the job, even if it means running ahead of God. But waiting is sometimes part of God’s plan. Are you waiting and listening to God’s complete instructions, or are you running ahead of His plans? We need God’s timing and power to be truly effective.

The “power” the believers receive from the Holy Spirit includes courage, boldness, confidence, insight, ability, and authority. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can experience the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. 

All those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately and permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8 vs 11). And, although some of the spiritual gifts have ceased (e.g., speaking in tongues and prophecy), the Holy Spirit still works in and through believers to accomplish His Will. His power leads us, convicts us, teaches us, and equips us to do His work and spread the gospel. The Holy Spirit’s powerful indwelling is an amazing gift we should never take lightly.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank You for the unparalleled gift of the Holy Spirit and the subsequent manifestation of His power in the lives of believers in Christ. I covet earnestly the constant leading of the Holy Spirit in my life at all times and in all things, in the Jesus’ mighty Name I have prayed, Amen.

THE POWER OF A WOMAN IN DESTINY

Title: THE POWER OF A WOMAN IN DESTINY

Proverbs 31:3, Genesis 2:18

Marriage involves blending of spirits, and that is why who you marry can make or mar you. The Bible warns, “Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings” (Proverbs 31:3). God Himself declared, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him” (Genesis 2:18). These two scriptures show the two sides of the coin: a woman can either multiply your strength as a divine helper or drain it until you are empty. Men often underestimate the power of a woman in destiny. The devil knows this, so he seeks to use the wrong woman to derail a man, while God raises the right woman to help fulfil His programme.Eve was meant to be a helper, but by yielding to the serpent, she became the entry point of man’s fall. Sarah was ordained to birth nations, but impatience led her to push Abraham into birthing Ishmael, creating generational conflict. On the other hand, Abigail saved David from bloodguilt by wise counsel, and Elizabeth’s faith protected the destiny of John the Baptist. The difference is clear: a woman aligned with God multiplies strength; a woman yielded to the devil drains it. That is why you cannot marry based on beauty, charm, or convenience. You must ask: is this woman God’s helper for my assignment? Does she understand and align with the call of God on my life?Practically, men must ensure they marry women who know and fear God, and women must refuse to go with men who have no sense of destiny. Sisters, ask him, “What is your calling? What am I meant to help you with?” If his answer is vague or worldly, beware. Brothers, don’t be swayed by shape or speech—look for a woman who carries the spirit of help from God. When a marriage is God-ordained, strength multiplies and destiny is preserved. When it is man-arranged, strength is drained and destiny is endangered.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Do I see marriage as a destiny partnership, not just companionship? Am I discerning enough to recognize whether someone will multiply or drain my strength?

Prayer: Lord, connect me to destiny partners who will multiply my strength and deliver me from anyone who will drain it.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 17, 2025.

SUBJECT: BE THANKFUL ALWAYS! 

Memory verse: "In everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (First Thessalonians 5 vs 18.) 

READ: Read Psalm 92 vs 1 - 2; Ephesians 5 vs 20:

Psalm 9:1: It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High;

92:2: To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night,

Ephesians 5:20: Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

INTIMATION:

We have learned that every good thing that comes to us in this life comes by the grace of God. I believe that until we recognize this truth, we will never be the kind of thankful, and grateful people God desires us to be.

Often times, in giving thanks, we focus on our blessings and express our gratitude to God for them. But thanks should be on our lips every time. We can never say thank you enough to our parents, how much more to God. When thanksgiving becomes an integral part of your life, you will find that your attitude toward life will change. You will become more positive, gracious, loving, and humble.

The Scriptures expressly state that in all things God works for our good if we love Him and are the called by Him (Romans 8 vs 28). God is perfect, and takes His time to prepare the called to serve appropriately His preplanned purposes. The preparation involves experiencing troubles, or difficulties, or rejection, and so on. Rest assured that such experiences are for His purpose.

Are you experiencing tribulations, or afflictions, perils, or distress, or persecution, or rejection? Whatever you are experiencing, thank God, not for your problems but for the strength He is building in you through the difficult experiences of your life. You can be sure that God’s perfect love will see you through, and at the end, you will be justified, and subsequently glorified, if you love Him, and are among the called by Him (Romans 8 vs 30).

Such experiences can come from anywhere, including your immediate family. You can suffer rejection from your spouse, your children, or parents, friends etc. God uses such to develop the needed qualities required for your service to Him. Joseph suffered rejection, from his family, sold into slavery, put into prison for uncommitted offense, forgotten by those he helped, but at the long run God justified and glorified him that he became a Prime Minister in a great foreign country at his time.

Therefore, we should thank God, not for everything that happens to us but give Him thanks in everything. Evil does not come from God, so we should not thank Him for it. But when evil strikes, we can still be thankful for God’s presence and strength, and for the good that He will accomplish through the distress.

God's attitude is that if His people really believe Him, then no matter what happens in life they will know that He is big enough to handle it and to make it work out for their good, if they continue to have faith in Him. God desires a thankful people, not a murmuring, grumbling, fault-finding, complaining people. Joy and peace are found in believing, not in murmuring, grumbling, fault-finding, or complaining.

We can even develop a demanding attitude in our relationship with the Lord. We can get to the point that we become upset and aggravated when the Lord doesn't come across with everything we think we are entitled to as the King's kids. As His children, we do have rights, and we have an inheritance, but a humble attitude is a "must." Without humility, we will be unappreciative and presumptuous. You and I have multitudinous opportunities to complain on a regular basis. But all complaining does is open the door for the enemy. It doesn't solve problems; it just creates a breeding ground for greater problems. 

Let's learn to respond to the help we are already getting from our ‘Helper,’ the Holy Spirit, which actually we don't deserve, by developing an attitude of being always thankful. This is not just an occasional word of thanks, but a continual lifestyle of thanksgiving. The person who has developed an "attitude of thankfulness" is one who is thankful and grateful for every single thing that God is doing in his or her life day by day.

Prayer: Abba Father, my help comes from You, Who made heaven and the earth. I will forever be grateful for all You have done, and is doing, and is yet to do. Even when it seems that there is nothing to give thanks for, I will thank You for the privilege of my adoption as Your son, and for the gift of life, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.

WRONG MARRIAGE CAN STEAL YOUR CHILDREN’S INHERITANCE

Title: WRONG MARRIAGE CAN STEAL YOUR CHILDREN’S INHERITANCE

Ezra 9:12, Malachi 2:15

Marriage does not only affect you—it shapes the generations that come after you. Ezra warned Israel, “Give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons… that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever” (Ezra 9:12). Malachi adds, “And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed” (Malachi 2:15). This means marriage is a seedbed for inheritance. A wrong marriage may not fully stop you from fulfilling your call, but it can severely cripple your children’s ability to continue in that call.I have seen children of great ministers lose all appetite for God because their parents’ marriage brought them under a polluted atmosphere. The father might still preach, the mother might still pray, but the generational seed is weakened. A wrong partner brings strange spirits into the home, and those spirits fight the destiny of the children. Satan knows that if he can’t fully derail you, he can still steal your inheritance through your offspring. That is why he fights to contaminate marriage at the foundation. Many who thought they could manage their choice later realised their children bore the brunt of that error.Practically, don’t gamble with destiny in marriage. Brothers, don’t marry a woman who despises spiritual things, no matter how beautiful she is. Sisters, don’t tie your life to a man who rejects God’s purpose, no matter how wealthy he looks. Your union is a gate through which either covenant blessings or strange attacks will pass to your children. If you are married already, refuse to accept defeat—rise in prayer to preserve a godly seed. Teach your children consecration, create a home atmosphere of faith, and fight off every satanic invasion. God’s plan is that your marriage becomes a channel of generational inheritance, not a snare of generational loss.THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I choosing marriage with my children’s destiny in view? Am I ensuring my home is a platform for raising a godly seed and not a polluted one?

TUESDAY DECEMBER 16, 2025.

SUBJECT : GIVING ATTRACTS GOD'S BLESSING!

Memory verse: "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’" (Acts 20 vs 35.) 

READ: Proverbs 11 vs 24. -25:

11:24: There is one who scatters, yet increases more, and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.

11:25: The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

INTIMATION:

The two verses in the passage we read today present a paradox—statement that contradicts itself. We become richer by being generous. The world says to hold on to as much as possible, but here the Scripture says that God blesses those who give freely and generously of their possessions, time, and energy. 

When we give, God supplies us with more so that we can give more. In addition, giving helps us gain a right perspective on our possessions. We realize that they were never really ours to begin with, but were entrusted to us by God to be used to serve His purposes, and help others in need. 

Possessions are difficult to come by when you think of yourself as the provider. Possessions reminds you of how hard to work just to get by, and giving it away would only seem to put you further away from the goal of having all your needs met, and the societal approval that you have arrived. All of that would be true if God wasn't your source. In God's economy, you move closer toward your goals by giving than you do by clinging to everything you have. 

Now, let us look at the apostle Paul’s counsel to the believers in Corinth, in his second letter to them; “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as He purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have abundance for every good work.” (Second Corinthians 9 vs 6 - 8.)

Many people hesitate to give generously to God and others because they worry about having enough left over to meet their needs. The apostle Paul assured the believers in the Corinthian church that God was able to meet their needs. The person who gives only a little will receives a little in return. But a generous and cheerful giver, God makes all grace abound toward him or her that such person will have abundant resources, making the person sufficient at all times to carry on the good works of generosity. 

And remember that your giving should be with the right motives before God. Your giving must not be out of necessity; for instance, giving to get rich. Such motive is not right before God. Also you should not give grudgingly; giving because they said we should give. Kingdom principles for prosperity doesn’t work that way. Your giving must be from a willing and cheerful heart with faith in God. 

The apostle Paul’s prayer for those with the right heart of giving, is also quite revealing, “Now, may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruit of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.” (Second Corinthians 9 vs 10 - 11.) 

The apostle Paul has the revelation of the ‘giving’ nature of God, especially as it relates to a generous heart. He knows that God will never allow such God-natured persons to lack anything, but He will ensure uninterrupted supply and multiplication of his or her seed, consequently, enriching the person in everything in order to continue and increase his or her liberal giving in bearing fruit of righteousness. God sees the heart and knows the intent of the heart. 

Therefore, give so that the Word of God will manifest in your life; in your generosity with a cheerful and willing heart, you will be made rich and sufficient in all things, so that you will continue in your ‘good works.’ Remember, you can never out-give God! If you are in doubt ask King Solomon.

Prayer: Abba Father, Your thoughts for us is of good, and have given us all that pertains to life and godliness. Endue me with giving spirit that I may utilize the resources You bestowed in my care adequately to serve You and others, thereby making me abundantly sufficient in all things, in Jesus’ Name I have prayed, Amen.
